  • Review PEP, sanctions and adverse media screening results, making decisions on escalated cases;

  • Perform transaction monitoring, investigate unusual activity and submit suspicious activity reports (SARs) to the National Crime Agency where required;

  • Draft, review and maintain compliance policies, procedures and controls in line with UK AML and FCA regulatory requirements;

  • Conduct and maintain the business-wide risk assessment and ensure ongoing regulatory compliance;

  • Manage communication with regulators, support external audits and regulatory reviews, and track remediation actions;

  • Prepare compliance reports and management information for senior management and the board;

  • Work closely with Account Management, Finance and IT teams on client onboarding, compliance systems and operational matters;

  • Provide compliance guidance and training to colleagues and respond to internal compliance queries.

๐ŸŽ“ Requirements:

  • Solid hands-on experience in compliance, preferably at least three years in financial services, payments or fintech;

  • Practical experience of KYC / customer due diligence and AML procedures, including transaction monitoring and screening;

  • Working knowledge of UK AML requirements and the FCA regulatory environment;

  • Experience drafting policies and procedures;

  • Experience of dealing with regulators, audits or regulatory reviews, or readiness to take this on;

  • Ability to work independently, take ownership of the compliance function and work closely with other teams;

  • Analytical and logical thinking with strong attention to detail;

  • Clear, professional communication and presentation skills;

  • Good organisational skills;

  • Fluent English and Russian (written and spoken).

โญ Nice to Have:

  • Prior experience in e-commerce and electronic payments (a significant advantage);

  • Previous experience as an MLRO or Deputy MLRO;

  • A recognised AML or compliance qualification;

  • Proficiency in MS Office applications.

๐Ÿค Key Competencies:

  • Strong ownership and independent decision-making;

  • Analytical thinking and attention to detail;

  • Strong regulatory awareness and risk management mindset;

  • Clear communication and stakeholder management skills;

  • Strong organisational and prioritisation skills;

  • Proactive and hands-on approach to compliance.

โœจ The Employer offers:

  • The chance to build and shape the compliance function of a fast-moving payments business;

  • A varied, hands-on position combining MLRO responsibilities with day-to-day compliance work;

  • An international, friendly environment, working with colleagues in Europe and around the world.

If you have strong hands-on compliance experience, understand the UK regulatory environment and are ready to take ownership of the MLRO function within an international payments business, this role is a strong next step.
