Job description

Senior Infrastructure Engineer - Build Our Foundation

Location: Gurgaon, India (Hybrid)

Are you an engineer who loves building the rock-solid foundation that everything else runs on? Do you enjoy the challenge of weaving different technologies—Windows, Linux, on-prem, and cloud—into a single, powerful platform?

If you want to architect and own the core infrastructure of a global company, this role is for you.

Here is more of what you’ll get to do:

Our company is growing incredibly fast and is a leader in multiple areas. Your mission is to help design, build, and manage the core infrastructure that powers it all.

This isn’t just about keeping the lights on. It’s about creating a scalable, secure, and efficient foundation for future growth.

  • You will help architect and deploy the infrastructure for our new projects, ensuring they meet the highest standards for performance and uptime.
  • You will master a hybrid world, expertly managing both Microsoft (Active Directory, IIS, SQL, Clustering) and Linux environments (Ubuntu, Apache, RabbitMQ, Elasticsearch).
  • You will own our resilience, implementing and managing complex backup, storage (SAN/NAS), and disaster recovery solutions.
  • You will bridge the gap to the cloud, using your experience with public cloud platforms like AWS or Azure.
  • You will be the expert, acting as an escalation point for critical issues and mentoring junior engineers.

You’ll thrive in this role if you have:

  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a mixed mode (onsite, remote or hybrid) environment, including consistent use of video conferencing, collaboration tools, and proactive communication practices while maintaining a professional on-camera presence.

Virtualization and SAN storage

  • Strong hands-on experience with one of Hyper-V, VMware/ESXi, or Nutanix, with working knowledge of a second.
  • Experience with VM provisioning, host maintenance, high availability, and troubleshooting.
  • Basic experience working remotely with SAN storage, preferably Pure Storage or HPE Nimble.

Windows, Linux, and application infrastructure

  • Experience supporting Windows Server and Linux, preferably Ubuntu, with stronger expertise in one.
  • Comfortable with patching, upgrades, permissions, services, and performance troubleshooting.
  • Working knowledge of IIS and NGINX/Apache, plus a basic understanding of HAProxy, reverse proxying, backend health checks, and load balancing.
  • Exposure to Windows Failover Clustering and SQL Server Always On Availability Groups is preferred.

Active Directory and related services

  • Good understanding of domains, domain controllers, DNS, Group Policy, authentication, and replication, with practical experience troubleshooting domain joins and login issues.
  • Familiarity with Windows/Linux domain integration.

Exposure to public cloud

  • Foundational experience supporting AWS (preferred) or Azure, including virtual machines, storage, networking, access controls, and monitoring.

Configuration management and scripting

  • Working experience with Puppet or Ansible, including maintaining existing configurations and troubleshooting failures.
  • Ability to understand, maintain, and adapt scripts using PowerShell, Bash, or Python.

Operational ownership and collaboration

  • Structured troubleshooting, proactive stakeholder updates, timely ticket records, clear documentation, and willingness to share knowledge and support junior engineers.
  • Ability to collaborate across global teams and participate in on-call support and planned maintenance.

AI-assisted operations

  • Practical use of Claude, ChatGPT, or similar approved tools for troubleshooting, analysis, scripting, and documentation.
  • Able to refine prompts, validate recommendations, and protect sensitive information while improving efficiency and accelerating delivery.

Nice-to-have skills

Monitoring and centralized logging

  • Experience using Zabbix and the ELK stack for monitoring, alert investigation, log analysis, and infrastructure troubleshooting.

Backup, disaster recovery, and SOC 2

  • Experience with enterprise backups, preferably Veeam, including failure investigation and restores.
  • Understanding of RPO/RTO, business continuity, recovery testing, and SOC 2 controls and evidence.

Networking, firewalls, and load balancing

  • Broader experience with TCP/IP, subnetting, routing, NAT, firewall rules, and load-balancer configuration.
  • Ability to investigate connectivity issues and coordinate changes with networking/security teams.

CI/CD

  • Exposure to Jenkins, Octopus Deploy, or similar tools, including pipelines and deployment troubleshooting.

Kubernetes

  • Exposure to Docker, Kubernetes, and Rancher, including workloads, services, ingress, and troubleshooting.

Infrastructure as Code

  • Familiarity with Terraform or similar tools, including version-controlled configurations, state management, and drift detection.

Does this position sound like something you would enjoy and be successful at, but you’re not sure you have the exact qualifications to be considered? While our job descriptions are an outline for the type of candidate we’re looking for, it is not a checklist. We encourage you to apply!
