Job description

Clue is looking for an Implementation Specialist to own the end-to-end rollout of our equipment management software for new customers. This is a hands-on, technical role: you'll configure and migrate customer data, troubleshoot integrations with ERP and telematics systems, build custom SQL-based reports, and make sure every new customer gets a smooth, well-architected implementation from proof-of-concept to go-live. You'll work closely with engineering and Customer Success to keep implementations on track and set customers up for long-term success.
Key Responsibilities
  • Software Implementation: Own end-to-end implementation of Clue's equipment management software for new customers, from proof-of-concept through full rollout, ensuring a smooth transition and integration with their existing systems and workflows.
  • Data Configuration & Migrations: Design and execute data migrations (e.g., PM plan reassignments, equipment configurations) across multiple database tables while preserving historical records. Configure custom alerts and notifications based on customer-specific workflows.
  • Integration Support: Troubleshoot integration issues between Clue and customer ERP/telematics systems (Vista, Spectrum, JDE, Samsara, Geotab). Coordinate with engineering to resolve API and data pipeline issues affecting customer operations.
  • Cross-Functional Issue Management: Manage customer issues across CRM and engineering systems to ensure proper tracking, prioritization, and resolution. Write detailed feature requests and bug reports with technical context, advocating for customer needs in product discussions.
  • Business Intelligence & Custom Reporting: Design and build custom SQL-based reports tailored to customer KPIs and operational needs, including equipment utilization, mechanic performance, PM compliance, inspection completion rates, fuel consumption, and work order billing. Partner with customers to translate their business questions into actionable data deliverables.
Requirements
  • Industry Experience: Proven experience implementing and rolling out telematics, GPS, ERP, or maintenance systems (e.g., Caterpillar VisionLink, HCSS, B2W, Viewpoint Vista, Oracle JDE) with heavy construction companies. Strong understanding of equipment lifecycle management, preventive maintenance programs, and fleet utilization metrics.
  • Technical Skills: Proficient writing SQL queries for data investigation, bulk operations, and custom report development. Superb proficiency in spreadsheets. Comfortable working in production databases (read-only) to diagnose customer issues and build reports. Experience troubleshooting integrations between SaaS platforms and ERP systems is a plus.
  • AI-Native: Daily user of modern AI tools for real work. Uses AI to write, analyze, research, automate, and solve problems. Stays current with new tools and actively upgrades their workflow as better AI tools appear.
  • Business Intelligence Acumen: Ability to understand customer operational metrics in heavy construction (equipment utilization, maintenance KPIs, fleet cost tracking, telematics health) and translate them into meaningful reports. Experience building executive-level dashboards or automated report deliverables is a plus.
  • Client-Facing Communication: Comfortable leading technical training sessions and guiding customers through a software rollout, with the communication skills to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Travel: Minimum once per month.
Expectations
  • First 30 Days: Ramp up on Clue's product, data model, and implementation playbook. Shadow at least one active implementation, and begin configuring data migrations and custom alerts for an assigned customer under guidance.
  • First 60 Days: Independently own at least one customer implementation end-to-end, from data migration through integration testing. Build and deliver your first custom SQL report for a live customer, and serve as the primary point of contact for integration troubleshooting on your accounts.
Benefits:
  • Comprehensive Benefits: Full healthcare coverage and 100% match on 401k contributions up to 6%.
  • Work Flexibility: 100% remote role in the U.S.
  • Leadership Access: Direct reporting to founders.
  • Dynamic Role: Lead in an innovative tech company.
  • Collaborative Culture: Progressive and team-oriented work environment.
  • Professional Growth: Opportunities for development and advancement.
  • Values Commitment: A merit-based hiring ethos with a diverse team from numerous nationalities.
