UFORCE builds the world's most battle-proven autonomous weapons systems. Over 150,000 real combat missions. Sea, air, land, and intercept. Iterated under fire in Ukraine and now scaling globally for allied militaries. We started with operators who built and deployed these systems in active combat — then added Silicon Valley-grade engineering and a go-to-market model that treats defence like enterprise tech: ship fast, listen to the customer, iterate in 48 hours, and price at a fraction of anything legacy primes can offer. Our platform includes Magura — the autonomous USV that helped deny Russia's Black Sea fleet — Nemesis, the heavy-bomber UAV flying thousands of strike missions nightly, and Liut UGV ground combat robots. Our C2 and open platform architecture integrate third-party interceptors directly onto our unmanned platforms, enabling sea-launched counter-UAS intercept missions with any compatible effector. All NATO-compatible, all combat-proven, all available now. Every day our systems are in the fight, the data, iteration speed, and operational feedback compound — over 150,000 missions and counting. Our mission: make defence 100x cheaper than offense — and help free nations make aggression too expensive to consider. UFORCE: Ready to Fight Tonight.

Job description

UFORCE exists to make aggression unaffordable.

Founded in Ukraine and headquartered in London, UFORCE is a defence-technology company with operations across Europe, the United States and Asia.

UFORCE builds uncrewed vessels, ground robotics and aircraft, autonomy software, and the command-and-control layer that operates them together. Each platform is deployable on its own, and stronger as part of the system. Its product lines include the MAGURA family of uncrewed surface vessels, the NEMESIS family of strike platforms, the LIUT family of ground robotic platforms, and counter-UAS systems.

About the role

UFORCE is looking for a Senior Engineer to help build the software that makes uncrewed vehicle (UxV) operations more reliable, repeatable, and scalable. You’ll develop capabilities across the UFORCE C2/C4ISR stack, with a focus on automating operational workflows, improving mission readiness, and reducing the burden on operators and pilots.

You’ll combine hands-on backend and frontend engineering with end-to-end product ownership: understanding operational needs, designing solutions, shipping capabilities, and validating them with real-world crews. You’ll work closely with operators, product teams, and engineers across systems, building software that remains usable in air-gapped environments, over intermittent connections, and with limited access to engineering support.

What you’ll do

  • Build and improve pre-flight and post-flight workflows, including automated checks, configuration, mission package handling, log capture, and post-mission data synchronization.

  • Develop operator-facing interfaces and guardrails that make routine workflows intuitive, consistent, and less dependent on engineering intervention.

  • Standardize configuration and mission setup patterns to reduce manual work and variation between crews and platforms.

  • Build operational analytics that help teams understand readiness, workflow performance, turnaround time, and the impact of connectivity constraints.

  • Work directly with operators to identify friction, translate field feedback into requirements, and validate improvements in real operational workflows.

  • Design and maintain APIs, schemas, and event models that enable reliable integrations and parallel development across teams.

  • Own delivery from discovery and technical design through implementation, rollout, observability, and iteration.

  • Make architectural trade-offs explicit, balancing product needs with compatibility, deployment constraints, and supportability in the field.

  • Create concise runbooks, checklists, and troubleshooting guidance that help crews operate independently and reduce avoidable errors.

  • Unblock teammates and partner teams through clear interfaces, ownership boundaries, and practical engineering standards.

Required Skills

  • 6+ years of backend or full-stack engineering experience delivering production systems.

  • Strong hands-on experience with Node.js and React in production environments.

  • A product-focused approach: you understand user needs and turn complex workflows into practical, usable software.

  • Experience building and operating API-first services, including versioning, backward compatibility, and contract-driven development.

  • Practical experience with Docker and Kubernetes, including deployments, debugging, and operational monitoring.

  • Strong end-to-end engineering ownership, from discovery and technical design to rollout and continuous improvement.

  • Ability to work closely with users, translate operational feedback into technical requirements, and validate whether a solution delivers the intended outcome.

  • Clear written and verbal communication, particularly when explaining interfaces, constraints, and technical trade-offs across teams.

  • A practical approach to debugging and reliability, supported by useful telemetry, clear documentation, and follow-through.

What success looks like

  • Key pre-flight and post-flight workflows are automated, reducing manual steps and reliance on tribal knowledge.

  • Mission readiness and turnaround time improve, with clear before-and-after measurements.

  • Operators can complete routine configuration and mission setup independently, using consistent workflows and practical guardrails.

  • Teams have reliable operational data and review workflows to identify bottlenecks and prioritize improvements.

  • Shared APIs, schemas, and event models reduce integration friction and enable teams to develop in parallel.

  • Delivered capabilities work in real field conditions and are supported by useful telemetry, concise runbooks, and clear ownership.

The nature of combat has changed.

Tomorrow’s battlefield success depends on autonomy, speed, and adaptability.

And UFORCE is ready.
