Why Valtech?
At Valtech, we believe the best experiences emerge when creativity, technology and human understanding come together.
AI is changing what we can imagine, how quickly we can make ideas tangible, and even what it means to be a designer. We’re looking for an
AI Native Experience Designer who is excited to be part of that change.
You’ve built strong foundations in experience, product or interaction design. But as AI has evolved, so has the way you work.
You experiment. You make. You use AI not simply to make your existing design process faster, but to explore experiences that weren’t possible before.
Maybe you’ve used AI to turn an idea into a working prototype. Maybe you’ve built an agent, experimented with generative interfaces, explored voice or multimodal experiences, or found new ways to move from Figma into functioning front-end code.
Whatever your path, you haven’t been watching the AI transformation from the sidelines.
You’ve been building with it.
The role
As an
AI Native Experience Designer, you’ll work alongside designers, engineers, strategists and clients to imagine and create the next generation of intelligent digital experiences.
You’ll combine human-centered design, critical thinking and strong design craft with a growing technical fluency. You’ll explore new interaction patterns enabled by AI, rapidly prototype ideas, test them with people, and help turn the most promising concepts into real experiences.
This is deliberately a hybrid role.
You don’t need to be a software engineer. But your work doesn’t necessarily stop when the Figma prototype is finished.
You’re interested in closing the distance between
thinking, designing and making.
What you’ll do
- Design compelling AI-native products, services and digital experiences, from early concepts through high-fidelity and functional prototypes.
- Explore new interaction patterns involving agents, copilots, conversational experiences, generative interfaces and multimodal AI.
- Translate complex user, technology and business challenges into simple, intuitive experiences.
- Use AI throughout your design process to research, ideate, create, prototype, test and iterate.
- Build rich interactive prototypes using Figma and emerging AI-assisted design and development tools.
- Experiment with tools such as GitHub Copilot, Claude Code, Cursor, v0, Replit, Lovable, Bolt and whatever comes next.
- Use AI-enabled development workflows to move from design concepts toward working front-end experiences.
- Partner closely with engineers to understand technical possibilities and constraints and translate designs into production experiences.
- Prototype quickly to answer questions that static screens alone can’t answer.
- Design thoughtfully for the unique characteristics of AI, including uncertainty, transparency, trust, user control and unexpected outputs.
- Test emerging AI capabilities, understand where they succeed and fail, and translate that understanding into better experiences.
- Bring ideas to life for clients, helping them see and experience what AI makes possible rather than simply talking about it.
- Share what you learn and contribute to the evolution of AI-native design practices across Valtech.
What we’re looking for
- 2–4 years of professional experience in experience design, product design, interaction design, UX/UI or a related discipline.
- A strong portfolio demonstrating digital experience design and your ability to move from problem definition through concept, interaction design and execution.
- Strong experience with Figma, prototyping, interaction design and design systems.
- Demonstrated experience using AI as part of how you design, prototype or create.
- Hands-on experimentation with generative AI, AI-assisted design tools, coding tools or emerging prototyping platforms.
- Strong foundations in human-centered design, user journeys, information architecture, usability and user research.
- An ability to think critically, challenge assumptions and bring structure to ambiguous problems.
- Enough technical fluency to understand how modern digital experiences are built and to collaborate closely with engineering teams.
- Strong communication and storytelling skills, with the ability to explain the thinking behind your work to clients, engineers and other designers.
- Most importantly, a demonstrated curiosity about AI and a habit of turning that curiosity into something tangible.
We’d love it if you’ve...
We don’t expect you to check every box. You might have:
- Used AI to take a design concept all the way to a working front-end prototype.
- Built or designed an AI agent, copilot, conversational interface or generative experience.
- Experimented with voice, image, video or other multimodal AI experiences.
- Used tools such as Cursor, Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, v0, Replit, Lovable or Bolt to make your ideas real.
- Worked directly with an LLM or AI API, or understand concepts such as context, RAG, tool calling and agents.
- Developed some familiarity with HTML/CSS, JavaScript/TypeScript, React or modern front-end development.
- Designed experiences that account for the uncertainty and non-deterministic behavior of AI.
- Thought deeply about how people build trust, understanding and control when interacting with intelligent systems.
- Contributed to a design system or helped translate design systems into working interfaces.
- Built side projects, hackathon projects or experiments simply because you wanted to understand what a new technology could do.
- Developed strong opinions about what separates an AI experience that is genuinely useful from one that is simply impressive.
Specific tools are going to change.
We’re more interested in what you’ve tried, what you’ve made, how you think and what you’ve learned along the way.
You are
A designer
You have strong foundations in experience design. You care about people, behavior, interaction, usability and craft. You can take something complicated and make it feel intuitive.
A maker
Your instinct is to make ideas tangible.
You’re comfortable in Figma, but increasingly interested in what happens beyond it. You see prototypes, code and AI-assisted development as additional materials you can use to explore an experience.
An explorer
When a new AI capability appears, you want to understand it by using it.
You don’t begin with the assumed limitations of AI. You ask:
“What might be possible now that wasn’t possible before?”
And then you start making.
A critical thinker
You recognize that AI does not replace judgment.
You challenge assumptions, interrogate problems and understand that sometimes the best experience uses AI extensively and sometimes the best solution doesn’t need AI at all.
A collaborator
You’re comfortable moving between users, designers, engineers and business stakeholders. You can communicate an idea clearly, listen to different perspectives and make the work better through collaboration.
What you can expect from us
You’ll work in an environment where design, technology and creativity intersect, alongside people who fundamentally believe in learning by making.
You’ll have opportunities to experiment with emerging technologies, collaborate across disciplines and apply new AI capabilities to meaningful client challenges.
Some of what you build will use established patterns. Some of it won’t have a playbook yet.
That’s part of the opportunity.
We’re looking for people who want to help us discover
what experience design becomes when the distance between imagining something and making it real gets smaller every day.
