JOB DESCRIPTION
We are looking for an experienced Senior DevOps Engineer to take ownership of designing, managing, and optimizing scalable, reliable, and secure cloud infrastructure. This role is suited to a senior engineer who thrives in a fast-growing SaaS environment, enjoys solving complex infrastructure challenges, and can lead technical initiatives to support high-volume data processing at scale. You will be responsible for ensuring the reliability, availability, and performance of systems handling billions of tracking requests per day worldwide. You will work across cloud infrastructure, servers, networks, containers, databases, monitoring, and system architecture, identifyingbottlenecks, and implementing scalable solutions. The ideal candidate is an independent, analytical, and pragmatic engineer who can lead a team, drive infrastructure improvements, maximize uptime, and make sound technical decisions while collaborating closely with developers and other stakeholders.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND ASSIGNMENTS
- Design, manage, maintain, and optimize cloud infrastructure to ensure scalability, reliability, security, and performance.
- Lead and support a team of engineers, providing technical direction and driving infrastructure improvements.
- Identify and map the capacity limits of infrastructure components, including virtual machines, containers, databases, and networks.
- Develop and implement scalable solutions capable of handling billions of requests per day.
- Build, configure, and optimize monitoring, logging, and alerting systems to improve observability and incident detection.
- Maximize system uptime and ensure high availability, resilience, and redundancy across all layers of the architecture.
- Configure, maintain, upgrade, and troubleshoot servers, networks, cloud environments, and applications.
- Proactively identify, analyze, and resolve infrastructure bottlenecks and performance issues.
- Secure infrastructure, data, and networks, ensuring business continuity and operational resilience.
- Advise and implement new technologies, infrastructure solutions, and architectural improvements.
- Collaborate with software developers to support application deployments and deliver infrastructure and software innovations.
- Establish and maintain infrastructure best practices, automation, and operational processes.
- Investigate system limitations and work with cloud providers or external systems to overcome capacity and scalability constraints.
- Take ownership of infrastructure initiatives, work independently, and drive continuous improvement in a fast-growing environment.
- Communicate complex technical concepts clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, or related technical field.
- Extensive hands-on experience in a similar DevOps, infrastructure engineering, or cloud engineering role, preferably within a SaaS or data-driven organization.
- In-depth knowledge of modern DevOps tooling, infrastructure management, and automation.
- Practical experience with Kubernetes; this is considered a must
- Experience with monitoring and observability tools such as Sentry, Grafana, or Loki.
- Strong understanding of server infrastructure, networking, containers, databases, and distributed systems.
- Experience designing and maintaining highly available, scalable, and resilient production environments.
- Knowledge of infrastructure security, redundancy, disaster recovery, and business continuity practices.
- Experience identifying infrastructure bottlenecks, troubleshooting complex production issues, and optimizing system performance.
- Proven ability to take ownership of technical projects, work independently, and make sound engineering decisions.
- Experience leading a team or providing technical leadership in an infrastructure or DevOps environment.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
- A forward-thinking and innovative mindset, with a focus on continuous improvement.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain complex technical concepts simply.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, evolving organization.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
- Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA) or Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA) certification, or a willingness to obtain one.
- Experience scaling high-throughput systems and distributed infrastructure for substantial request volumes.
- Experience with cloud-native architectures, container orchestration, and infrastructure automation.
- Experience designing monitoring systems, defining service reliability objectives, and improving incident response.
- Experience working with external cloud providers and resolving infrastructure capacity constraints.
- Previous experience in a senior or team lead position within a growing SaaS or technology company.
- A proactive approach to mentoring colleagues, sharing knowledge, and improving engineering practices.
