Job description

Great companies need great teams to propel their operations. Join the group that solves business challenges and enhances the way we work and grow. Working at Gainwell carries its rewards. You’ll have an incredible opportunity to grow your career in a company that values your contributions and puts a premium on work flexibility, learning, and career development.

Summary

As a PBM / Healthcare Manager at Gainwell, you will lead quality assurance efforts for a complex Fraud, Waste, and Abuse (FWA) solution, ensuring testing strategy, execution, and delivery readiness support successful project outcomes. You will serve as the quality leader across business and technical teams, driving accountability, risk mitigation, and overall solution quality from planning through production readiness.

Your role in our mission

  • Lead the overall QA strategy, test planning, execution oversight, and release readiness.
  • Ensure adequate coverage across functional, integration, end-to-end, regression, PAT, and UAT testing.
  • Provide leadership and direction to QA resources while coordinating across business and technical teams.
  • Participate in hands-on testing, validation, and defect investigation as needed.
  • Drive defect triage, prioritization, resolution tracking, retesting, and closure.
  • Maintain requirements traceability and ensure quality test documentation and evidence.
  • Coordinate test environments, integrations, and test data readiness.
  • Monitor testing progress and provide visibility into risks, issues, defects, and release readiness.
  • Proactively identify and resolve quality risks, issues, and dependencies.
  • Partner with stakeholders to support testing decisions and production readiness.
  • Utilize Azure DevOps (ADO) or similar tools to manage test activities and reporting.
  • Promote QA best practices, continuous improvement, and quality standards.
  • Demonstrate strong ownership, urgency, and accountability for successful project delivery.

What we're looking for

  • 8+ years of software quality assurance and testing experience, including leadership of QA teams and enterprise-scale testing initiatives.
  • Proven experience developing QA strategies, test plans, governance processes, and quality metrics for complex technology implementations.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to influence cross-functional teams and drive results in fast-paced environments.
  • Demonstrated success managing defects, risks, issues, and action items through resolution while maintaining project momentum.
  • Experience with Azure DevOps (ADO) or similar QA and test-management platforms.
  • Ability to balance strategic QA leadership with hands-on testing and troubleshooting responsibilities.
  • Exceptional organizational skills, follow-through, and accountability for achieving commitments and project milestones.
  • Preferred experience supporting healthcare, Medicaid, PBM, Fraud, Waste & Abuse (FWA), or other highly regulated environments.

Additional QA Manager Requirements

  • This is a hands-on QA leadership role. The selected candidate must be willing and able to engage directly in testing activities when needed, not solely manage through delegation.
  • Proven ability to proactively identify, track, and drive action items, risks, issues, and defects to completion with minimal supervision.
  • Demonstrated sense of urgency, follow-through, and accountability for delivering commitments and achieving project outcomes.

What you should expect in this role

  • Fully remote options from most US locations and territories
  • Video cameras must be used during all interviews, as well as during the initial week of orientation
  • Photo will be taken during screening for verification in all steps of the recruitment process.
  • The deadline to submit applications for this posting is November 2, 2026

Please ensure you join all screenings, interviews and meetings from a quiet location with a stable internet connection.

Video is required for screenings and interviews, so please test your camera and microphone in advance.

Do not use AI tools, virtual backgrounds/filters, or visual enhancements during the interview.
