Job description

Job Summary:
The Business Resiliency Specialist III develops and maintains policies, plans, and procedures for business continuity, disaster recovery, and incident and crisis management to sustain critical operations and restore services following disruptions. The role partners with business and technology stakeholders to assess business impacts, risks, and third-party dependencies; coordinate response and recovery; and validate readiness through training, exercises, and testing. Responsibilities include monitoring emerging risks and applicable requirements, supporting compliance, reporting on preparedness and recoverability, and implementing improvements through lessons learned and corrective actions. The specialist also provides guidance, training, and work direction to less experienced personnel.

Essential Functions:

  • Develop, implement, review, and maintain business resiliency policies and incident management, crisis management, and disaster recovery plans, procedures, playbooks, and supporting documentation. • Conduct or support business impact analyses and risk assessments to identify critical functions, dependencies, threats, vulnerabilities, and mitigation strategies. Evaluate how changes to business processes, technology, facilities, vendors, and operating models affect response, continuity, and recovery. Work with vendor owners to assess third-party preparedness and address resiliency risks.
  • Develop, implement, review, and maintain business continuity plans with business owners to sustain critical functions during disruptions and guide short- and long-term recovery and business resumption.
  • Partner with Information Technology, Facilities, Legal, Compliance, Communications, Security, business leaders, project managers, and other stakeholders to integrate business resiliency and response programs and maintain the availability and integrity of applications, data, systems, and networks.
  • Coordinate the design, implementation, and maintenance of disaster recovery processes for systems, applications, data, infrastructure, networks, and operating environments.
  • Develop and deliver training, tabletop exercises, annual disaster simulations, and disaster recovery tests to validate plans, reinforce responsibilities, and improve readiness and service restoration.
  • Coordinate incident, crisis, emergency, and business disruption response from escalation and plan activation through recovery, business resumption, and return to normal operations. Coordinate decision-making, resources, and stakeholder communications, and maintain timely, accurate records of decisions, actions, risks, impacts, and recovery status.
  • Lead post-incident and post-exercise reviews, analyze results, document lessons learned, and track corrective actions. Use findings, risk assessments, and industry practices to recommend and implement improvements aimed at preventing incidents and disasters, reducing impacts, strengthening response and recovery, resolving production issues, and improving operational efficiency.
  • Develop and maintain technical and scalability documentation, metrics, and reports to track preparedness, plan currency, exercise results, corrective actions, and recoverability of critical services, systems, and applications.
  • Monitor emerging risks, security alerts, threats, regulations, standards, and industry practices relevant to resiliency and response. Ensure equipment, systems, services, and facilities meet disaster recovery requirements, and support compliance with organizational policies, regulations, and applicable standards, including ISO 22301 and NIST SP 800-34.
