Hi, we're Oscar. We're hiring a Operations Analyst, Plan Loading to join our Claims and Benefits Configuration Team.

Oscar is the first health insurance company built around a full stack technology platform and a relentless focus on serving our members. We started Oscar in 2012 to create the kind of health insurance company we would want for ourselves—one that behaves like a doctor in the family.

About the role:

The Analyst, Configuration supports incoming projects and work designed to improve the consistency, accuracy, and efficiency of Oscar processes through system configuration. Through collaboration with stakeholders in the organization and gaining an understanding of Oscar's platform capabilities, this role ensures information is loaded accurately and efficiently.

You will report into the Senior Operations Manager, Benefit Coinfiguration.

Work Location: This position is fully remote and open to candidates residing in the U.S., excluding Alaska; Delaware; Hawaii; Louisiana; Montana; North Dakota; Oklahoma; West Virginia; Wyoming; and U.S. Territories. Daily work is completed from your home office, with occasional travel required for team meetings and company events. #LI-Remote

Pay Transparency: The base pay for this role in the states of California, Connecticut, New Jersey, New York, and Washington is: $62,100 - $81,506.25 per year. The base pay for this role in all other locations is: $55,890 - $73,335.63 per year. You are also eligible for employee benefits, participation in Oscar's unlimited vacation program and annual performance bonuses.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform detailed oriented work with a high level of accuracy and adherence to all QA/QC protocols
  • Strong understanding of designs, builds, and configuration workflows and utilize this knowledge to develop insights into opportunities for workflow improvements.
  • Understand aggregated configuration data to identify updates required and to measure the impact of any changes on internal operations and existing configuration
  • Load configuration data into the core system accurately and in a timely manner
  • Leverage internal tools and technical processes, in particular database querying and benefit or reimbursement configuration concepts.
  • Build SQL queries and translate technical analyses into easily digestible communications to a nontechnical audience
  • Identify and report on any data/data infrastructure gaps, deficiencies, or irregularities
  • Compliance with all applicable laws and regulations
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements:

  • 1+ years of working knowledge of health plan benefit concepts (e.g., deductibles and other forms of cost sharing, etc.).
  • 1+ years of proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint and/or comparable programs within the Google Docs Editors suite (e.g., Google Docs, Google Sheets, Google Slides).
  • 1+ years of experience manipulating and analyzing large data sets using excel or a similar database language to solve business problems

Bonus points:

  • A bachelor's degree or 4 years commensurate experience
  • Working knowledge of medical coding concepts (e.g., CPT, HCPCs and ICD-10 coding)
