Job description

ABOUT US

Pureprofile’s vision is to deliver more value from the world’s information. We are a global data and insights organisation providing industry-leading online research solutions to agencies, marketers, researchers and brands & businesses.

The Company, founded in 2000 and based in Surry Hills, Australia, now operates in North America, Europe and APAC and has delivered solutions for over 850 clients.

ABOUT THE ROLE

We are hiring an Associate Accountant based in the Philippines to support our Australia-based finance team. Our group has its main operating entity in Australia along with several subsidiaries, all served by a single, centralised finance team - so this role works across the whole group, not a single entity. As a listed company, we undergo two external audits each year (half-year and full-year), covering both the group and its subsidiaries.

This is a broad, hands-on role. We're looking for someone with a solid accounting foundation who understands how month-end works, can support our AR and AP teams, and handles core compliance such as GST. With training, the right person will pick things up quickly and get up to speed fast. You will report directly to the Senior Financial Accountant.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Month-end close - support and take ownership of assigned month-end tasks across group entities: journals, accruals, prepayments and reconciliations
  • Financial accounting - help maintain the general ledger and support reporting across multiple group entities (Australian parent and subsidiaries)
  • GST/indirect tax - prepare GST (BAS) and other core compliance obligations
  • AR & AP support - act as a support point for the AR and AP teams; help resolve issues they cannot handle themselves, and provide cover where needed
  • Reconciliations - bank, balance sheet and control account reconciliations, investigating and clearing variances
  • Systems - maintain accurate records and transactions in NetSuite
  • Reporting & improvement - assist with ad hoc reporting, analysis and process improvement

ABOUT YOU

Skills & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance or Commerce
  • 2–3 years of accounting experience, with exposure across GL, AR and AP
  • Prior month-end experience - understands the underlying logic and can pick it up quickly with training
  • Working knowledge of GST/BAS and core compliance (a core task for this role)
  • Solid Excel skills
  • Strong written and verbal English - essential for working with the Australia-based team
  • High attention to detail, well-organised and deadline-driven

DESIRABLE/NICE TO HAVE

  • Some exposure to or understanding of external / statutory audit
  • Experience supporting an Australian company or Australian clients
  • Experience across a group/multiple entities
  • NetSuite experience (or another ERP - SAP, Oracle, MYOB)

ATTRIBUTES

  • Eager to learn and grow into broader responsibilities
  • Proactive with an ownership mindset - sees tasks through to completion
  • A reliable support point the AR/AP teams can turn to
  • Comfortable collaborating with an overseas team across time zones (Slack, Google Workspace, video calls)
  • Reliable and discreet when handling sensitive financial information

WORK TIMING: Australian Business Hours
