Location: UK (VertiGIS HQ is in Cambridge, UK - Hybrid Working Available) or Ireland (Remote Working)
Employment Type: Full Time, Permanent

About VertiGIS

At VertiGIS, we help organisations unlock the full value of their geospatial data. Our solutions enable customers across utilities, telecommunications, government, infrastructure and commercial sectors to manage assets, optimise workflows and make smarter, data-driven decisions. We combine industry expertise with powerful geospatial technologies to deliver real-world outcomes for our customers.

As we continue to grow, we are looking for a Senior Geospatial Consultant to join our Professional Services team. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced consultant who enjoys solving complex data challenges, working closely with customers, and delivering high-quality geospatial solutions.

We welcome applications from candidates based in both the United Kingdom and Irelandwith the opportunity to be based remotely or hybrid working from our Cambridge head office.

The Role

As a Senior Geospatial Consultant, you will work with customers to deliver data transformation, migration, integration, and quality improvement projects across a range of geospatial environments.  You will play a key role in project delivery, leading technical workstreams, engaging directly with customers, and supporting the development of less experienced team members. You will help organisations improve the quality, accessibility and value of their spatial data while contributing to the successful delivery of strategic programmes.

We use the SFIA framework to assess competencies and expect to appoint this role at Level 3-4, depending on experience, with opportunities for progression as your responsibilities and expertise grow.  The successful candidate will work across a range of technologies, with a particular focus on FMEas a core platform for data integration, transformation and automation. Experience with enterprise GIS platforms and spatial databases will also be valuable.  Further training in our own complementary data and application products will be provided.

Travel to customer locations may occasionally be required.  Due to the nature of our work it is essential that candidates are able and willing to obtain and maintain UK Security Check (SC) Clearance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the delivery of geospatial consultancy projects from discovery through to implementation.

  • Design and implement data transformation, migration and integration workflows.

  • Build, maintain and optimise FME workspaces and automation processes.

  • Deliver geospatial data quality, validation and improvement initiatives.

  • Support the implementation and adoption of VertiGIS and third-party geospatial technologies.

  • Develop technical documentation, specifications and delivery artefacts.

  • Provide technical leadership and mentoring to colleagues.

  • Contribute to solution design, best practices and continuous improvement initiatives.

  • Support pre-sales activities, workshops and customer demonstrations where required.
