Job description

Client Success & Partner Manager, Research, AU

Location: Remote, Australia
Type: Full-time, Permanent

About Cutter:

At Cutter Associates, we empower the world’s leading asset managers and asset owners with the intelligence they need to stay ahead. For nearly 30 years, and with a global presence, we’ve combined expert consulting with proprietary research and industry benchmarking to help top-tier investment firms make smarter, faster decisions. Our global team is known for its deep domain expertise, collaborative spirit, and relentless curiosity. As we expand into new markets and capabilities, now is the perfect time to grow your career with a company that values insight, innovation, and impact.

Overview:

Cutter Associates is seeking a relationship-driven professional to support Cutter’s research membership business and the technology providers we work with in Australia/New Zealand. The role will serve as Cutter’s primary AU contact for existing members, representing Cutter’s research products and services to asset managers and asset owners, including Superannuation funds. In addition, this role also serves as a regional extension of the global partnership strategy we form with technology and service providers in the region.

Success in this role requires the ability to engage credibly across the investment management ecosystem, from asset managers and asset owners to technology and service providers. By combining industry knowledge with an understanding of client priorities and operational challenges, this professional will position Cutter’s research as a strategic, long-term partner rather than a transactional product. The role will collaborate closely with Cutter’s Head of Research, Client Success, Research Sales, Research, Consulting, and Marketing teams to deliver a seamless experience across the full member lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities:

Member Success, Retention & Relationship Management

  • Serve as the primary regional point of contact for members, building multi-level relationships and maintaining a clear engagement strategy and service plan for each account.
  • Lead tailored onboarding and ongoing engagement, connecting members to relevant research, roundtables, webinars, in-person events, and peer connections based on their priorities and business needs.
  • Conduct periodic executive business reviews and execute retention plans that demonstrate value, address evolving needs, establish clear touchpoints, and identify at-risk accounts early.
  • Maintain strong regional market knowledge and bring client themes, feedback, and emerging needs to Cutter’s research and leadership teams to inform events, service improvements, research content, and future priorities.

Technology Partner Management

  • Serve as the regional extension of the global partnership strategy for technology and service provider partners, strengthening engagement and identifying ways to expand Cutter’s presence in the local market.
  • Build and manage partner relationships that create opportunities for consulting, research participation, vendor visibility, and event engagement, connecting relevant opportunities to the broader Cutter team for evaluation and execution.
  • Operate within Cutter’s global partnership framework and governance model to ensure regional partner activity reflects local market needs while supporting a consistent One Cutter approach.

Cross-Functional Collaboration & Reporting

  • Partner with Client Success, Research Sales, Research, Consulting, and Marketing to deliver a coordinated member experience, align client needs with Cutter’s research agenda, and identify relevant consulting, expanded-service, and broader commercial opportunities.
  • Track and analyze engagement data, portfolio health, renewal performance, and client satisfaction to guide proactive outreach, strengthen retention, and improve the member journey.
  • Contribute to internal best practices, projects that improve processes, and help reinforce Cutter’s collaborative, transparent, and client-focused culture.
  • Thrives in a high-autonomy environment, taking ownership of priorities and execution while maintaining a highly collaborative approach that fosters alignment, communication, and shared success across the organization.
  • Support the Research Sales Principal in growing research membership through networking and referrals.

Success in this role includes:

  • Achieving strong membership retention and a target renewal rate (>90%)
  • Building trusted relationships across our members, technology partners, and service providers
  • Driving attendance and registration at Cutter events
  • Expanding Cutter’s presence and reputation in the region
  • Working collaboratively and transparently with others
