Job description

About us Everyone should have the opportunity to own a home. But the system is broken. House prices have grown faster than incomes for decades, and thousands of people have been locked out of homeownership and the opportunities it can bring.

We're on a mission to make the homebuying process to make it simple, transparent and fair.
The challenge is huge, and we're looking for mission-driven people who are passionate about delivering fantastic customer outcomes. Working at Gen H means proactively embracing new challenges, working comfortably with deadlines and taking initiative.

We value honesty and humility, and thrive in a humble, low-ego environment.
Harnessing innovative tech and the talent of our smart, ambitious team, we're building a fairer mortgage market. If you can help us move the dial, we want to hear from you.

Your mission Working at Gen H means embracing new challenges – we’re building a mortgage lender from scratch, and you’ll work with others around the business to design new features and products, solve problems, and deliver great outcomes for our customers.

As a software engineer, you’ll get to own the features you build from start to finish, and will be proactive about iterating on them as the business changes over time.

Our fantastic operations teams use our in-house tools to help our customers and mortgage brokers have the best experience of Gen H. In addition to building new features, you'll play a critical role in improving these tools to support our teams as they provide a high level of service for our customers.

  • Familiarity with Ruby, TypeScript and React preferred, but we like people who are willing to learn new things on the go
  • Experience with Postgres or another relational database
  • You’ve done some informal domain modelling to help turn ideas into working systems
  • Google Cloud Platform, Kubernetes and Python are nice to have, but not essential
● £55k - £75k salary depending on experience
● Private Health Care with Vitality
● Enhanced maternity and paternity leave
● 38 days’ holiday (including bank holidays)
● 1 pm finish on the last Friday of every month
● Cycle to Work Scheme
● Flexible and hybrid working

Salary: 55000 - 75000 GBP per year
