Our Opportunity:
Building on Purdue University's mission to provide greater access to affordable, high-quality education, Purdue University Global is a public, nonprofit institution offering a world-class education online. Purdue Global delivers personalized online education tailored to the unique needs of adults who have work or life experience beyond the classroom, enabling them to develop essential academic and professional skills with the support and flexibility they need to achieve their career goals.
The Vice President, Enrollment Management will provide support to Purdue University Global.
Job Summary:
Reporting to the Chief Enrollment and Partnerships Officer, the Vice President, Enrollment Management (VP of EM) leads Purdue Global's new student enrollment operation and is accountable for delivering new student academic starts each term. The role owns the student's path from the point Marketing hands off a qualified inquiry through the first-term add/drop period. This position serves working adult students in a fully online institution, with emphasis on providing an informed, supportive experience for those students; routinely achieving budget and start goals; and creating a positive work environment centered on collaboration, respect, student outcomes, and continuous improvement. The VP of EM will demonstrate a commitment to Purdue Global's land grant mission of access and can point to success serving a broad population of adult learners.
The VP of EM is responsible for all new student admission and enrollment services at Purdue Global, including application materials, document and transcript collection, transfer credit intake coordination, advisor training, metrics, policies, and processes. Purdue Global is a primarily open-admissions institution; where admission decisions are required, they reside with the academic schools, and the VP of EM ensures those decisions are supported and executed quickly and consistently.
The VP of EM has managerial responsibility for leading, developing, and continuously improving the enrollment management organization. Purdue Global is seeking a leader who has designed and built enrollment operations that produced measurable, repeatable results at scale, not only managed operations already in place. The VP of EM will work closely with Marketing to define and hold the handoff standard and to feed conversion performance back into demand generation decisions; with Student Success to ensure new students transition smoothly into classes and to define the handoff once a student is past add/drop; and with the Office of Strategic Partnerships to support the enrollment of students from military, nonprofit, community college, workforce development, and corporate partners.
The VP of EM will also be expected to remain at the forefront of the discipline by engaging with peers across the sector and bringing proven practice to Purdue Global, and will develop and maintain collaborative relationships with the senior team, academic leadership, faculty, staff, the Purdue University System and outside partners to ensure enrollment operations are integrated with, and reflective of, the work of our shared land grant mission.
What to expect in this role:
- Enrollment operations and delivery of new student starts:
- Own new student academic starts against plan each term, by population and by program.
- Lead the admissions advising organization, including staffing, hiring, training, coaching, and quality assurance.

- Own speed to contact, speed to admit, speed to start, and melt between admit and start, and design the processes that improve them.
- Own first-term engagement and intervention through the add/drop period, and maintain the handoff standard to Student Success.
- Design and hold the qualified inquiry handoff standard with Marketing and ensure conversion results are reported back to inform channel and campaign decisions.
- Ensure students arriving through partner channels receive an enrollment experience aligned to each partnership's terms.
- Manage enrollment vendors and ensure compliance with internal and external policies, regulations, and other mandates.
- Enrollment analytics, forecasting, and performance management:
- Own the term-by-term start forecast, the staffing and capacity model, and the daily and weekly performance cadence for the operation.
- Develop, manage, and report on funnel metrics and outcomes representative of student and institutional success.
- Identify and track patterns, trends, and anomalies, and design and implement immediate operational responses.
- Serve as the enrollment business owner for the CRM and related systems.
- Admissions policy, process, and compliance:
- Monitor compliance with the standards for admission and related policies and processes.
- Ensure all recruitment and enrollment activity meets federal, state, accreditor, and university requirements, including Title IV and misrepresentation rules.
- Oversee quality monitoring activities (reporting and responses) of adherence to policy, process, compliance standards, and best practice.
- Collaborate with university stakeholders and vendors on the ongoing improvement of admissions policies and processes for improved student and institutional outcomes.
- Team leadership and cross-functional partnership:
- Lead, develop, and retain a high-performing enrollment leadership team and advisor workforce.
- Collaborate with Student Success, Financial Aid, the academic schools, and the Office of Strategic Partnerships to ensure a seamless, student-centered handling of issues that arise in the enrollment process.
- Proactively identify improvement opportunities across enrollment systems, processes, and procedures, and present findings and recommendations to leadership.
- Manage operational resources and the enrollment budget.
- Perform other duties as assigned
Experience:
- Master's degree in a related field from an accredited institution of higher learning.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in enrollment management or a similar field, with at least 5 years leading a large online or adult-serving admissions and enrollment operation.

- Significant experience working with adult learners in a wholly online environment, and a strong record of success working collaboratively in a cross-functional environment.
- Demonstrated record of designing and building enrollment models, processes, and teams that delivered new student starts against plan across multiple terms and years, at meaningful scale.
What we're looking for:
- Extensive knowledge of enrollment management theory and practice, with demonstrated success increasing new student enrollment and persistence through the first term.
- Demonstrated success leveraging digital marketing and optimizing conversion in a demand-generation marketing environment.
- Fluency in funnel analytics, forecasting, and capacity planning, and comfort being challenged on the numbers.
- Experience as the business owner of an enrollment CRM, including process design and configuration decisions.

- Demonstrated skills in program development and planning, re-engineering processes and procedures, and formulating and revising policy at an institution of higher learning.
- Demonstrated success building, developing, and maintaining an effective enrollment management team.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively with university stakeholders, including academic leadership, faculty, students, and partners.
