Job description

Brainlake is looking for a senior bilingual copywriter, fluent in Arabic and English, to join a 12-month remote engagement on large digital transformation programmes for leading organisations in the GCC. You will own copy across websites, digital platforms and digital communications. That means turning complex strategies, services and policies into clear, consistent and audience-appropriate content in both languages.

You will work closely with strategy, UX/UI and delivery teams, and with senior client stakeholders. The work moves quickly, is structured and is held to a very high quality bar. Content has to be precise, on-brand and ready for executive review.

What You'll Do

  • Write, edit and transcreate copy in Arabic and English for websites, portals, mobile apps and other digital platforms, including UX/microcopy, landing pages, service descriptions and navigation labels
  • Produce digital communications such as email campaigns, newsletters, announcements, social media content, push notifications and campaign messaging
  • Make sure the Arabic content is written natively, not translated literally, so it reads naturally and stays culturally relevant while carrying the same intent and impact as the English
  • Develop and apply tone-of-voice guidelines, bilingual style guides and terminology glossaries so messaging is consistent across all channels
  • Work with UX/UI designers to shape content inside user journeys, wireframes and prototypes, including right-to-left (RTL) layout considerations
  • Turn client briefs, brand strategy and research insights into content structures and messaging frameworks
  • Take part in client workshops and review cycles, present content rationale clearly, and incorporate feedback from senior stakeholders
  • Own content quality from end to end, proofreading and reviewing your own work and the team’s for accuracy, consistency and adherence to standards
  • Manage several workstreams and deadlines at once in a structured, document-driven delivery environment

Requirements

  • Native-level fluency in Arabic (Modern Standard Arabic) and professional fluency in English, written and spoken
  • 6+ years of copywriting experience, with a strong focus on digital channels (websites, platforms, apps, campaigns)
  • A portfolio showing bilingual digital work, ideally covering both UX/microcopy and marketing or communications
  • Proven ability to transcreate and localise content between Arabic and English, not only translate it
  • Experience working with enterprise, government or semi-government clients, preferably in the GCC
  • Strong understanding of digital content best practice: readability, accessibility, information hierarchy and SEO rules
  • Excellent attention to detail, with the ability to deliver polished, review-ready content under tight timelines
  • Confident communicator who can present and defend content decisions to senior stakeholders
  • Comfortable working remotely and independently across time zones, with availability during GCC business hours

Good to Have

  • Experience on projects for top-tier consulting firms, or within a consulting environment
  • Familiarity with Gulf Arabic and with local cultural nuances across GCC markets
  • Experience with CMS platforms (e.g. Sitecore, Adobe Experience Manager, WordPress) and design tools (Figma)
  • Background in UX writing or content design, including building content for design systems
  • Experience creating content governance frameworks, editorial calendars or content audits
  • Knowledge of Arabic SEO and of search behaviour in Arabic
  • Experience with AI-assisted writing and translation tools, with a sound sense of where they work
  • A degree in Communications, Journalism, Translation, Marketing or a related field
