About Leading Edge

Leading Edge raises the standard for talent, culture, and leadership across the Jewish nonprofit sector. We engage with professionals, executives, and board leaders to build stronger organizations and drive the community forward. Since 2014, Leading Edge has helped tens of thousands of people across 1,000 Jewish nonprofits to transform how they approach talent, culture, and leadership through original research, guidance, and development programs. We work across the full arc of professional and board life, from the first job to the boardroom, setting and raising the standard for what it means to contribute and lead at the highest level. Elevating these organizations strengthens Jewish life and every community these nonprofits serve. Right now, this work has never mattered more.

Position Summary

The Manager, Communications will develop and execute Leading Edge’s visual and social storytelling, shaping how the organization shows up across all our digital channels. Reporting to the Vice President, Marketing and Communications, this role will build a visual presence grounded in warmth, humanity, and thought leadership, serving as the organization’s visual expert, translating our brand into consistent, high-quality assets for teams across the organization.

This is a pivotal moment for Leading Edge. As the organization expands its reach and impact, this role will help translate that momentum into stories and visuals that engage the full ecosystem, from frontline professionals to major funders. The Manager, Communications will partner closely with colleagues across the organization, balancing creative ambition with the discipline to deliver a high volume of work on time and on brand.

Core Responsibilities

Social Media Strategy & Production

  • Develop and execute a social media strategy across platforms that grows Leading Edge’s audience through storytelling, warmth, and thought leadership, consistent with Leading Edge’s existing brand guidelines
  • Lead strategy and production for video content
  • Produce and schedule social content and video for campaigns, conferences, and program launches
  • Own paid social advertising, including budget management, targeting, and performance reporting
  • Moderate social platforms and help manage the shared communications inbox
  • Track and report on organic and paid social performance

Design & Brand Asset Production

  • Serve as the organization’s primary expert in AI-assisted design, including Claude Design, translating brand guidelines into consistent, dynamic, on-brand visual assets such as event signage, social graphics, and presentation materials
  • Build and maintain a brand toolkit (templates, prompt guidelines, style reference) that keeps design output on brand with minimal need for major revision
  • Maintain reusable template libraries (e.g., Canva) for recurring campaign types
  • Manage photo, video, and file assets
  • Manage swag ordering, fulfillment, and inventory for events, campaigns, and staff needs

Cross-Departmental Design Support

  • Serve as the point of contact for design requests submitted through the department’s Asana intake process
  • Fulfill routine design requests within defined turnaround expectations; flag ambiguous or brand-sensitive requests for review
  • Exercise judgment on tool limits, knowing when AI-assisted design is sufficient and when a request needs an outsourced designer

Commitment, Compensation, & Benefits

This is a full-time exempt position, with a salary between $90,000-96,000 commensurate with experience. Leading Edge provides a best-in-class benefits package, including:

  • 100% coverage for employees and 50% coverage for spouses and dependents for medical, dental, and vision
  • Retirement matching, wellness benefits, ample flex time, and a three-month paid parental leave
