Job description

About Nema Health

Nema Health is a survivor- and clinician-led virtual clinic dedicated to revolutionizing PTSD and trauma care. Our mission is to guide trauma survivors at every step of their healing journey, pioneering the remote, intensive delivery of Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT).

We are seeking passionate and mission-driven Clinical Psychologists who are licensed through PSYPACT to join our elite group of trauma therapists that provide best-in-class care to survivors.

Why Practice at Nema?

  • Unparalleled Professional Growth: Receive extensive internal training and weekly CPT technique supervision directly from Dr. Kate Chard, co-inventor of CPT.

  • Clinical Excellence & Rigor: Participate in cutting-edge research, program development, and receive ongoing mentorship from renowned national clinical leaders.

  • True Impact: Deliver highly effective, intensive care to survivors who deserve the most compassionate, evidence-based treatment available.

Role Overview

This is a fully remote, full-time, exempt position reporting directly to the Clinical Supervisor.

  • The Intensive Care Model: To maximize recovery, patients are seen multiple times a week for the duration of their treatment (approximately 6 weeks).

  • Direct Patient Care Expectation: 26 hours per week dedicated to face-to-face clinical sessions.

  • Hiring Practice: We hire on a rolling basis, continuously reviewing applications and onboarding exceptional therapists as our clinic expands nationally.

Key Responsibilities

Clinical Care & Excellence

  • Assessment & Triage: Conduct thorough, precise patient diagnostic evaluations and effectively triage patients to Nema’s intensive programs or coordinate appropriate external referrals based on clinical need.

  • Evidence-Based Treatment: Deliver high-fidelity CPT and other evidence-based psychotherapies tailored for PTSD and co-occurring conditions.

  • Risk Management: Confidently manage clinical risk, demonstrate strong crisis-intervention skills, and execute care escalations with precision when necessary.

  • Group Facilitation: Lead specialized skills groups (e.g., DBT skills groups) for graduates of CPT to support long-term healing.

  • Care Coordination: Partner collaboratively with the administrative team on logistics, external referrals, and direct cross-provider care coordination.

  • Documentation: Maintain meticulous, accurate, and timely clinical documentation and measurement-based care records.

Operational Support

  • Team Growth: Provide strategic input on the recruiting, onboarding, and overall workplace experience of the growing clinical team.

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with the Clinical Operations team and Clinical Leadership to optimize processes, elevate quality assurance, and ensure seamless communication.

Qualifications

Required Minimum Qualifications

  • Licensure: Active licensure through PSYPACT. While administrators will assist with licensing, therapists remain responsible for their continuing education (CEs).

  • Education & Experience:

    • PhD with at least 2 years of post-graduate clinical experience.

  • Clinical & Core Competencies:

    • Outstanding "webside" manner, robust diagnostic abilities, and experience working with moderate-to-high-risk patient populations.

    • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.

    • Highly organized, reliable, and capable of operating autonomously on core clinical duties.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior formal training and certification in CPT.

  • Robust training in DBT or other trauma-focused modalities (e.g., Prolonged Exposure, EMDR).

  • Prior clinical supervisory or management experience.

  • Experience working within an early-stage, startup, or fast-paced digital health environment.

  • Willingness to work two days per week from 11:00 AM – 7:30 PM and three days per week from 9:00 AM – 5:30 PM in your local time zone to accommodate national patient availability.

Culture & Personal Attributes

We are looking for clinicians who embody the following core values:

  • Patient-Centric & Advocate: You genuinely love treating trauma survivors, fiercely advocate for their well-being, and proactively flag pertinent issues for the care team.

  • Growth-Oriented: You strive for continuous improvement, crave constructive feedback, and recognize that there is no ceiling to clinical excellence.

  • Equity-Minded: You care deeply about health equity, providing culturally sensitive care, and actively working to reduce health disparities.

  • Data-Driven: You believe in the dissemination and strict fidelity of evidence-based treatments, utilizing measurement-based care to track patient outcomes.

  • Collaborative: You want to work hard, have fun, and actively contribute to a supportive, vibrant, and mission-aligned team culture.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Salary: $108,000 – $120,000 base salary (commensurate with experience).

  • Time Off: Generous paid time off (PTO) package, which includes a dedicated annual holiday block break.
