The Opportunity

The Structural Engineer is responsible for the design, analysis, and evaluation of structural systems and components that support Integra's turnkey data center development. This role ensures structural integrity, safety, and compliance across new designs and existing structures, while supporting efficient production, installation, and long-term operational performance.

Working closely with engineering, manufacturing, construction, and project teams, the Structural Engineer applies sound engineering judgment to deliver reliable, code-compliant structural solutions that meet performance, durability, and regulatory requirements in mission-critical environments.

What you will do?

  • The Structural Engineer develops and designs structural systems and components including support structures, equipment framing, machinery foundations, and enclosures used in project sites.
  • Performs detailed structural analysis to verify that designs meet load-bearing, safety, durability, and performance requirements, using appropriate engineering calculations and analysis tools.
  • Collaborates with project managers, architects, and multi-discipline engineering teams to integrate structural designs into overall project plans.
  • Reviews and approves structural drawings, calculations, and specifications, providing technical guidance to construction teams during implementation.
  • Ensures all structural designs comply with applicable building codes, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Conducts site inspections and assessments to evaluate existing structures, identify deficiencies, and recommend corrective actions.
  • Investigates and resolves structural issues or non-compliance findings in a timely manner, prepares engineering reports and design documentation, and maintains accurate records of calculations, specifications, and project correspondence.
  • Identifies opportunities to improve structural design methods, processes, and efficiency, staying current with industry trends and best practices.
  • Responsible for the analysis and design of structural systems supporting substation and related infrastructure. This includes designing steel and concrete structures such as equipment support frames, bus structures, control buildings, and foundations for transformers and other major equipment.
  • Performs structural calculations using industry-standard software to ensure designs meet applicable codes and standards (e.g., AISC, ASCE, ACI, IBC).
  • Additional responsibilities also include developing detailed drawings and specifications, evaluating loads such as wind, seismic, and equipment forces, and coordinating closely with civil, electrical, and geotechnical disciplines.
  • Ensures that all structural designs are safe, efficient, and constructible while meeting project requirements and site conditions.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Structural Engineering, or a related field (required), Master’s degree in Structural Engineering (preferred).
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license (required).
  • Additional professional certifications or specialized structural training are a plus.
  • 5–10 years of progressive experience in structural engineering.
  • Experience supporting manufacturing, industrial, or mission-critical facilities preferred.
  • Proven experience designing and analyzing structural systems and components.
  • Experience supporting construction or fabrication activities is a plus.
  • Substation design a plus
  • Strong knowledge of applicable codes and standards (AISC, ACI, ASCE, IBC)
  • Experience with structural analysis and design software
  • Proficiency in developing and reviewing engineering drawings and specifications
  • Understanding of load analysis including wind, seismic, dead, live, and equipment loads
  • Familiarity with foundation design and coordination with geotechnical reports
  • Experience supporting construction activities (shop drawing review, RFIs, site support)
  • Strong foundation in structural engineering principles, analysis, and design.
  • Demonstrated ability to design and evaluate structural components and systems in industrial or manufacturing environments.
  • Proficiency with structural engineering software and design tools.
  • Solid understanding of construction methods, materials, and load paths.
  • Ability to interpret codes, standards, drawings, and technical specifications.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills with the ability to collaborate cross-functionally.
