Job description

JOB SUMMARY We are seeking a skilled Proactive Support Engineer to join our Managed IT Services team. Unlike traditional reactive IT support roles, this position focuses on proactively identifying, investigating, and resolving technical issues, infrastructure deficiencies, vulnerabilities, and security risks across multiple client environments before they impact business operations.

The engineer will be responsible for remediating security vulnerabilities, maintaining and updating server and network infrastructure, investigating proactive monitoring alerts, identifying aging/failing hardware, and performing routine maintenance to ensure client environments remain secure, stable, and up to date. Additional responsibilities include conducting technical health checks of client environments, identifying configuration deficiencies, aligning infrastructure with established technical standards and industry best practices, and implementing improvements to overall system performance, security, and reliability.

This is a hands-on technical role that requires independent troubleshooting, strong ownership of assigned work, and the ability to manage multiple priorities across different client environments. The engineer will also focus on identifying recurring issues, implementing permanent solutions where possible, and escalating risks that require larger infrastructure changes or project work. The primary objective is to continuously improve the health, security, stability, and standardization of our clients' IT environments while reducing preventable support incidents.
