Job description

WinCap Support Analyst - School Accounting & Financial Software

Harris School Solutions – Remote

Salary range: $55,000–$70,000 per year, based on experience.

Have an accounting background? Like solving problems? Put your experience to work for New York schools.

School districts manage millions in public funds. Every purchase order, vendor payment, deposit and budget line has to be tracked and reported correctly. Our WinCap Support Analysts help make that happen. You’ll be the expert that school business offices and BOCES across New York State rely on when they need answers.

If you’ve worked in bookkeeping, accounts payable, purchasing, budgeting or a school business office, you already have the hardest part of this job. You bring the accounting know-how that helps our clients keep the books balanced and meet their deadlines with confidence.

Why this role may be a great fit for accounting professionals

  • Your experience counts from day one. You’ll support the full financial cycle: purchasing, accounts payable, accounts receivable, budgeting and the general ledger.
  • Make a visible impact. Your support helps New York schools manage public funds accurately and stay audit-ready.

What you’ll do

  • Serve as a frontline, primary support contact for WinCap clients by responding to support tickets and phone inquiries
  • Troubleshoot questions across the financial system, including Purchasing, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Budgeting and General ledger
  • Handle escalated issues directly with customers
  • Lead client training through webinars and user group sessions
  • Spot bugs and enhancement ideas, then document them clearly for our development team
  • Know when to escalate, and pass issues on with the details needed to fix them fast
  • Build and improve user guides, support documentation and internal processes
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

What you bring

  • A bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or business, or equivalent work experience
  • A solid understanding of accounting principles and day-to-day bookkeeping
  • Hands-on experience with the following area: purchasing, AP, AR, budgeting and general ledger
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills
  • Sharp analytical and troubleshooting skills
  • The ability to stay calm and organized when several priorities compete
  • A positive, professional and solutions-focused approach

Bonus points if you have

  • Knowledge of fund accounting, governmental accounting or public-sector budgeting
  • Experience supporting accounting, ERP or financial software
  • Familiarity with public-sector purchasing rules or NYS school financial reporting
  • Business office experience in a New York State school district or BOCES (strongly preferred)
