Being the Leader Communities Need in Moments of Crisis.

About Us

CarePoint Response is a nationally recognized nonprofit and Baltimore’s only comprehensive crisis response system. Since 1992, we’ve been at the forefront of behavioral health crisis care — providing timely, community-based services for individuals and families experiencing mental health and substance use challenges.

The Opportunity

We’re seeking a Peer Support Supervisor to join CarePoint Response and provide leadership, guidance, and oversight to our Peer Support Specialists across our Call Center, Mobile Crisis Response, and Residential programs. In this role, you’ll play a key part in supporting staff development, promoting recovery-oriented practices, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality, compassionate, and trauma-informed crisis services.

You’ll provide structured supervision, coaching, and mentorship to peer staff while offering guidance during complex or high-risk situations. Through collaboration with program leadership, ongoing training, and community partnerships, you’ll help strengthen our peer support services, empower staff to grow professionally, and ensure individuals experiencing mental health and substance use crises receive the support they deserve.

What You’ll Do

  • Work collaboratively with members of the mobile crisis team, call center and residential units.
  • Create performance improvement plans for staff when necessary
  • Provide regular documentation for supervision.
  • Offer real-time consultation and support to staff managing high-risk or complex situations, including de-escalation and safety planning.
  • Model behavior and ethics to the peer specialist
  • Provide support and supervision to peer specialists.
  • Builds relationships with addiction, mental health, homeless outreach providers, peer recovery supports and other community resources
  • Maintains professional open, effective, and appropriate communication with clients, BCRI staff, management, outside agencies and the public
  • Empower staff to become self-advocates for their own recovery/wellness
  • Provide consistent support through one-on-one supervision, team meetings, debriefings after crisis calls, and ongoing mentorship.
  • Coaching and mentoring peer staff, facilitating training and assisting with onboarding of new hires
  • Participate in on-call or after-hours support as needed
