Are you ready to make a lasting impact on literacy?

At Really Great Reading, we are building a bright, diverse, and passionate team dedicated to leading the industry in improving literacy scores nationwide. With nearly two decades of leadership bringing the Science of Reading to thousands of schools, we design innovative products, training, and materials that transform how educators teach and how students learn. Here, we empower our team with the tools, support, and professional growth opportunities they need to thrive in a collaborative, forward-thinking environment—where your work truly makes a difference.

Why This Role Matters

Behind every successful literacy implementation are educators who understand not only how to use a program, but how to bring it to life in their classrooms. At Really Great Reading, professional learning is an essential part of helping schools and districts translate evidence-based literacy instruction into meaningful classroom practice.

The Professional Services Consultant helps make that connection possible by delivering engaging, practical training that builds educator confidence, strengthens instructional practices, and supports successful implementation across our district partnerships.

Success in this role means educators leave professional learning experiences prepared to apply what they've learned, training aligns with district implementation goals, and ongoing feedback and support contribute to stronger instructional practices and long-term partnership success.

The Role

The Professional Services Consultant is an instructional expert and professional learning facilitator responsible for delivering high-quality training and supporting the successful implementation of RGR programs across partner schools and districts.

You'll work closely with Regional Engagement Managers and district stakeholders to coordinate professional learning, tailor training to different audiences, and provide follow-up support that helps educators translate learning into classroom practice. Based in the DMV area, you'll support district partnerships through frequent in-person engagements, with regional travel of up to 75%. You'll also use training feedback and participation data to improve delivery and inform broader implementation efforts.

The ideal candidate can move comfortably between instructional expertise and adult learning: equally confident facilitating professional development for a room of educators, adapting instruction to meet different learning needs, and helping district partners connect training to practical classroom outcomes.

What You’ll Do

Professional Learning & Training Delivery

  • Coordinate training schedules with district contacts and internal teams to align professional learning with implementation milestones
  • Deliver engaging virtual and in-person professional development for educators, administrators, and support staff
  • Adapt training content, delivery, and pacing to meet audience needs, experience levels, and district goals
  • Provide follow-up resources, coaching, and instructional support to reinforce learning and classroom application

Implementation & District Partnership

  • Partner with Regional Engagement Managers to align professional learning with district implementation plans and priorities
  • Support district partners and educators through the entire customer journey and life cycle.
  • Build positive, professional relationships with teachers, instructional leaders, and district stakeholders
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on literacy instruction, program implementation, and instructional best practices
  • Monitor implementation and adoption data ensuring that your district partners are utilizing the tools they have to drive outcomes for students.
  • Maintain clear, timely communication with district partners to support a consistent training experience

Training Effectiveness & Continuous Improvement

  • Review training surveys, participant feedback, and engagement data to evaluate effectiveness
  • Adjust training methods, content, and pacing based on feedback and evolving program needs
  • Track participation, completion, and engagement, sharing relevant observations with Regional Engagement Managers
  • Contribute training insights that inform account updates, implementation planning, and renewal conversations

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Collaborate with Customer Success, Sales, Product, and other internal teams to improve training materials, processes, and customer experience
  • Share instructional observations and field feedback to support continuous improvement
  • Help maintain consistency and quality across professional learning engagements

  • Strong knowledge of literacy instruction, structured literacy, and the Science of Reading
