Neara

Energy Technology

Neara is the first physics-enabled digital twin that moves infrastructure owners from seeing “what is” to understanding “what if.” By bringing historically fragmented data and workflows into a geometrically precise model that behaves just like real-world assets, Neara brings structural precision to simulation analyses, intervention planning, and investment prioritization across any risk context — from preparing to support load growth to building a 30-day storm-hardening plan, or executing a multi-year wildfire mitigation strategy.

Job description

Imagine having the power to stress-test an entire power grid against a hurricane or thunderstorm before the clouds even gather. That is the reality we are creating at Neara.

We use advanced machine learning to create engineering-grade, physics enabled digital twins of electricity grids across four continents, this helps asset owners understand their biggest challenges and bring the most viable solutions to life across millions of kilometres of infrastructure.

By simulating extreme weather and structural stress at a network-wide scale, we empower the world’s largest utilities to pinpoint risks, optimise investments and build a more resilient global energy future.

Our team is a collection of brilliant minds who are fanatical about making a tangible difference in the real world, utilising AI and machine learning to accelerate everything from data classification to complex scenario analysis. We have built a special culture where innovation thrives because everyone owns the mission and we need smart, creative people to help us scale this impact to every corner of the globe.

What it means to be a Senior Customer Value Architect at Neara

Some of the world’s largest utilities run critical decisions on Neara: where to spend billions on network upgrades, how to manage wildfire and vegetation risk, how fast to restore power after a storm. When a Customer Value Architect does the job well, it’s obvious:

  • A major enterprise rollout lands on time and is adopted across the business, not just by the team that bought it.

  • The customer’s executives can point to exactly what Neara has delivered, in their own numbers.

  • The account grows because the customer keeps finding new problems they want Neara to solve.

You own the overall success of your account, and the reason those outcomes happen.

This isn’t a typical customer success role. As a CVA, you’re the named Neara lead on our most strategic enterprise accounts in Australia, and you’re embedded with that customer, often on-site. You’ll get to know their network, their people and their priorities as well as they do. Your job is to understand how they analyse and manage risk, configure Neara around it, and own delivery of complex enterprise projects from scope through to measurable value. You’ll work where sales, product, deployment and strategy meet, and you’ll be the customer’s strongest advocate inside Neara.

This is a Sydney-based role.

What You’ll Do

  • Own the account: Be accountable for the overall success of your customer: delivery, adoption, value and growth.

  • Lead enterprise delivery: Own the delivery of large, complex projects end to end, making sure they meet contractual scope and hit the business outcomes they were bought for.

  • Configure for their reality: Get deep in the Neara platform and shape it around how your customer analyses and manages risk, so it fits how they actually work.

  • Embed it in the business: Lead organisation-wide adoption, including the workflow and change management work that sits outside the core platform.

  • Own the value story: Define business cases and ROI metrics with your customer’s leadership, and run the executive value reviews that show what Neara delivers.

  • Be a trusted executive advisor: Understand your customer’s strategic priorities well enough to shape where Neara goes next in their business, with relationships from engineering teams to the executive suite.

  • Own the growth: Lead account strategy with Sales and Deployment, uncovering the business drivers and pain points that expand the partnership.

  • Shape the product: Bring what you see in the field back to Product, so we build the features that unlock the most value for customers.

What You’ll Bring

  • Enterprise delivery leadership: Significant experience leading complex technology programs for large enterprise clients, embedded with them and accountable for the outcome.

  • Strong technical depth: You’re credible with engineers and comfortable getting hands-on with enterprise software platforms, data and deployments.

  • Commercial rigour: Experience building value and ROI frameworks tied to a client’s strategic and business priorities, and connecting your work to commercial results.

  • Senior stakeholder presence: You build trusted relationships with executives and technical teams alike, through credibility, authenticity and transparency.

  • Clear communication and judgement: You explain complex topics simply, and you work back from business outcomes to the right technical solution.

  • Ownership: A proactive problem-solver who takes full responsibility for a customer’s success and creates momentum without waiting to be asked.

  • Highly regarded: A background in technology consulting, or in utility or civil design.

  • Bonus points for: Infrastructure or energy sector experience, or an engineering degree. Neither is essential.

Why work here

  • Competitive salary + ESOP. Significant career development and growth opportunities.

  • Fully flexible working arrangements with a well-stocked office in Redfern.

  • Highly meritocratic, non-bureaucratic, and no-ego work culture.

  • Regular company events.

  • The opportunity to work on complex, meaningful products and real-world problems.

  • The opportunity to play a direct, critical role in the trajectory of a high growth company.

  • Neara values diversity, belonging, and equal employment opportunities. We encourage individuals from all backgrounds to apply.
