Job description

About Us

Have you ever wondered why we rely on harmful chemicals and artificial ingredients to maintain our body’s health? We have. After years of battling on-and-off tonsillitis, our founder Carly Stein finally found relief in an ingredient called propolis: a combination of tree and plant resin created by bees to protect the hive. We aren’t just creating cleaner alternatives to the traditional medicine cabinet; we’re creating all-around cleaner products. Period. We merge modern science with natural medicine to prove that clean medicine can actually work. We believe that today’s most common health problems can be solved with better-for-you ingredients found right in nature. We source the highest-quality, humane ingredients, and we never water them down with artificial extras. We care about the world around us and the people in it. It’s what drives our entire brand. We don’t just care because it’s cool; it's our genuine belief that our products empower you to take your health into your own hands. We’re all better human beings when we feel our best, right?

About the Role

This is a pivotal role that will define how BKN shows up across social channels: setting the vision, driving social content strategy, and shaping the brand’s cultural narrative. A social-first creative strategist and brand builder, this person will own how BKN connects with audiences through content, creators, and community, ensuring social storytelling is both world-class and business-driving.

The Senior Manager, Social will oversee all aspects of social strategy, influencer marketing, and content development, leading a team of strategists and external partners to craft culturally resonant storytelling that fuels growth, relevance, and brand love. This is a full-time role based in Los Angeles. This person will report to our Senior Director of Brand and Culture and partner closely with executive leadership across Brand, Creative, and Growth.

Responsibilities:

Brand + Platform Vision

  • Define the long-term vision for BKN’s social ecosystem, setting the roadmap for brand storytelling, community engagement, and platform innovation.
  • Partner with Creative and Growth leadership to translate brand positioning into social-first creative systems and campaign frameworks that deliver measurable brand and business impact. Our goal is a higher-volume, platform-native content engine (with an emphasis on TikTok) built on consistent content verticals and seasonal and evergreen story franchises.
  • Ensure all paid, organic, and influencer content ladders up to unified storytelling and performance goals.

Social Strategy + Content Leadership

  • Develop and lead the brand’s social media strategy through a storytelling and community-first lens, using social listening to inform content development and increase awareness, engagement, and conversion.
  • Own the organic social engine day to day, including platform strategy, the social content calendar, community management, social listening, publishing, and performance optimization.
  • Partner with Brand, Creative, and Growth to align content strategies and create assets for seasonal campaigns, key launches, and always-on storytelling moments.
  • Identify and operationalize new social opportunities (e.g., TikTok Shop, live shopping) to drive community growth and commerce.
  • Oversee the creation and execution of cross-platform content from ideation to final delivery, keeping brand voice, tone, and visual identity consistent and aspirational. This includes monthly and ad hoc shoots to supply content for all social channels.
  • Stay on top of cultural and digital trends to bring proactive, breakthrough ideas that keep the brand ahead of the curve.
  • Own performance analytics: weekly, monthly, and quarterly recaps and analysis shared with marketing leadership and cross-functional teams, proactively identifying optimization opportunities across the social content ecosystem.

Influencer + Creator Strategy

  • Architect an end-to-end social strategy spanning awareness to conversion, using data, creativity, and cultural insight to build advocacy and impact.
  • Lead creative development for influencer and brand ambassador storytelling that generates organic reach and earned media.
  • Build frameworks for identifying, vetting, and nurturing relationships with brand ambassadors and creators who authentically embody the brand, from macro talent to emerging voices.
  • Partner with PR, Growth, and Creative to ensure consistent messaging and maximum amplification across channels.
  • Lead monthly influencer reporting and insights to keep content and spend decisions data-informed.

Leadership + Collaboration

  • Lead, inspire, and develop a high-performing team of social strategists, influencer marketers, and content producers, fostering a culture of creativity, collaboration, and accountability.
  • Serve as a thought partner to executive leadership, representing social and influencer insights in key business and brand discussions.
  • Be a key voice in the go-to-market process, translating brand priorities into compelling, social-first narratives.
  • Build alignment with internal stakeholders so storytelling ladders up to brand and business goals.
  • Champion a test-and-learn mindset across teams, driving innovation through insights, experimentation, and continuous optimization.

Requirements:

  • 7+ years of social media and content experience, including at least 2 years at the Senior Manager level (or equivalent scope) on the brand side.
  • Based in the Los Angeles area. This role is in person with regular shoots and events, and relocation is not offered.
  • Proven track record of owning social content strategy for a consumer brand, from setting the vision to running the content calendar day to day.
  • Socially native: you live on the platforms, know what’s working and why, and have grown a brand account on TikTok with results to show for it.
  • Experience building content verticals and recurring series that scale and keep audiences coming back.
  • A test-and-learn approach: you’ve run structured tests on hooks, formats, and posting strategy, and changed the work based on what you learned.
  • Strong reporting and analytics skills, including building weekly, monthly, and quarterly performance recaps and turning data into clear recommendations for leadership.
  • Hands-on experience working with creators and talent, including writing creative briefs and managing creators from concept through delivery.
  • Experience leading and developing a team, or managing agencies and freelance partners, and holding them to a high creative and performance bar.
  • Strong cross-functional partner who can work with Creative, Growth, PR, and executive leadership to turn brand priorities into social-first stories.

Nice to Have:

  • Creative skills you can use yourself, such as designing graphics and doing light video editing.
  • Deeply plugged into pop culture and internet culture, with a track record of bringing cultural moments into brand content quickly.
  • Experience with TikTok Shop, live shopping, or other social commerce.
  • Background in wellness, food and beverage, beauty, or another consumer brand category.

Location, Comp & Benefits

  • Los Angeles, CA
  • 10% annual bonus
  • Health and dental benefits provided
  • Unlimited vacation
  • Company sponsored 401K plan
