Job description

Lead Full-Stack Engineer (Ruby on Rails / React)
100% Remote · Brazil · B2B Contract

About the Company

You’ll be joining a US-headquartered, full-lifecycle product development company with 300+ engineers, designers, and strategists across the US, Europe, and Latin America. The company partners with Fortune 500 companies and well-funded startups to build software products, from ideation and design through engineering and launch.

Teams work forward-deployed and embedded long-term with clients, close to the architecture and the decisions that shape it. Clients value the team’s opinion, so engineers contribute directly to architectural, engineering, and product decisions.

Why Join

  • Fully remote: work from wherever you work best.

  • Work with clients who see you as a strategic thought partner.

  • A strong social agenda, with a commitment to diversity and inclusion and charity initiatives throughout the year.

  • Rapid company growth, which means real opportunities to grow and advance your career quickly.

About the Project

The project is a next-generation data management and quality platform that provides seamless access to integrated clinical trial data. Its products streamline data aggregation, standardization, and management workflows. This reduces operational burden, speeds up review timelines, improves data quality, mitigates risk, and ultimately improves patient safety.

What We’re Looking For

Seniority: Lead (8+ years of relevant experience)

Must have:

  • Strong commercial experience with Ruby (Rails) and React.

  • Hands-on experience building and maintaining microservice-based systems.

  • Ability to trace how data flows between services, including message queues and event streams, third-party integrations, and data warehouses.

  • Proactive ownership: you look beyond the assigned ticket and understand the project as a system, including how neighboring services fit together.

  • Comfort in a fast-paced environment, including switching between several tickets and keeping progress moving when one is blocked.

  • Ability to ask the right questions and raise risks or gaps early rather than waiting for direction.

  • Upper-intermediate or higher level of English.

Nice to have:

  • Direct experience with Kafka or another event-streaming platform (RabbitMQ, SQS/SNS, Pub/Sub).

  • Experience with Snowflake or a comparable analytical data warehouse (BigQuery, Redshift).

  • Experience integrating and debugging external or third-party APIs at scale.

  • Experience with observability tooling for cross-service debugging, such as distributed tracing and centralized logging.

  • Exposure to service decomposition or migrating a monolith to microservices.

Working Hours

Brazil: 9 AM – 5 PM BRT

Engagement & Compensation

  • 100% remote work.

  • This is a B2B contract. The compensation accounts for the fact that you’re responsible for your own benefits. Paid time off, national holidays, medical insurance, and similar benefits are not included.

  • Time off is encouraged. A flexible policy allows up to 40 unpaid days off per year.
