Collage Group is the leading cultural intelligence company supporting over 300 iconic U.S. brands in their efforts to unleash the power of culture to drive brand growth. Through our consumer insights, data, tools and best practices we work with marketing and insights professionals to help them more effectively and efficiently understand, reach and engage diverse consumers: Hispanic, Black, Asian, Millennial, Gen Z, LGBTQ+ and women. Our work centers on helping brands achieve Cultural Fluency—the organizational ability to use culture to activate consumers across race, ethnicity, generation, gender, sexual identity and parent-child relationships. Our robust analytical framework starts with a deep understanding of cultural variations across all consumer segments, measuring cultural attributes, traits, passion points and more. We explore how these attitudes and behaviors impact various industries, such as consumer packaged goods (CPG), automotive, financial services, health care and media. We then identify linkages to brands and ads through our proprietary metrics, CultureRate:Brand and Ad. Collage Group consumer insights are delivered through an online cultural intelligence platform supported by our Client Services team. Our business model offers unique value by integrating member-based subscription access to unrivaled syndicated research content and an ever-growing database containing nearly 80 million consumer survey data points. Our members have access to 300+ studies in our syndicated research platform, with more than 35 original proprietary studies published each year, unveiled 3-to-4 times a month. Our full-service, in-culture qual and quant custom research team offers tailored solutions for leading brands. Collage Group is a National Minority Supplier Development Council (NMSDC) certified minority-owned small business.

Job description

Research Manager / Sr. Manager, Custom Insights & Strategy

Location: Remote

Overview

Collage Group is the only cultural intelligence engine that fuses consumer, industry, and brand data to provide brands with insights on the why behind consumers’ behaviors – so they can act quickly to fuel revenue and brand growth. Powered by 28B points of data and AI workflows, we're helping 250+ of the world's largest brands win with key growth audiences.

Collage Group is seeking a Research Manager / Senior Research Manager to join our Custom Insights market research team in our mission to uncover hidden truths and immersive human insights that propel brands forward.

In this role, you will lead full service custom market research engagements across both Quantitative and Qualitative methodologies. You will serve as a strategic thought partner to major brand clients, synthesizing insights from primary data and Collage’s proprietary cultural intelligence assets to deliver actionable, high-impact stories that drive confidence in decision-making.

Note: This is a consumer market research position and not a business analyst, UX research, or evaluation research role.

Responsibilities

  • Full Service Research Execution: Manage and execute custom quantitative and qualitative research studies from kickoff to presentation, championing research quality at every stage of the process. This includes ownership of tasks such as questionnaire and discussion guide design, field management, survey and data QC, data analysis, and reporting (quant and qual data visualization in PowerPoint).
  • Insight Generation & Storytelling: Synthesize both qualitative and quantitative data into strategic research reports with compelling narratives to inspire clients to action. Serve as the representative of the consumer voice, delivering culturally fluent insights on under-represented audiences and an empathetic perspective on consumer tensions.
  • Project Management: Oversee project timelines and task execution to ensure projects are completed on time, meet research objectives, and drive client delight and loyalty.
  • Team Collaboration: Partner closely with project team members and vendors to ensure alignment on task division, timelines, and project objectives. Help the team proactively problem-solve by flagging any capacity, quality, or timing issues early. Provide direction and mentorship to junior analysts on project teams (e.g., slide building best practices). Note: This role does not have direct reports/management responsibilities.
  • Client Servicing: Serve as the client contact on key projects or support project lead on client management and communication. Lead project kick off calls and presentations, ensuring research objectives and core business questions are addressed with meaningful insights and brand-specific recommendations.

Experience

  • 5-8+ years demonstrated experience in consumer market research (agency, supplier, or consultancy side preferred)
  • Strong hands-on proficiency in both quantitative (survey design, statistical analysis, data visualization) and qualitative research techniques (discussion guide design, online bulletin boards, IDIs, focus groups, qualitative data analysis & reporting)
  • Proven track record of creating visually compelling, action-oriented presentation decks that translate complex data into clear recommendations for non-researchers and senior executive audiences
  • Experience directly working with clients (e.g., presenting research findings to key client stakeholders)
  • Intellectually curious, with a passion for consumer culture, human behavior, and brainstorming insights and creative research design
  • Highly organized, able to manage multiple tasks or projects concurrently, strong follow-through on deadlines, and a passion for high-quality research
  • Equally comfortable in a collaborative, co-creative team environment and with self-directed responsibilities
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel & PowerPoint
  • Experience with survey platforms (e.g., Decipher, Qualtrics) and qualitative platforms (e.g., Recollective, Qualboard, Discuss.io), analytical/statistical tools a plus (e.g., SPSS, R)
  • Spanish language proficiency a plus

Target Compensation: $75,000 - $100,000 + bonus
