Job description

Location: Remote Madrid, Spain (local working hours)

About MediaRadar:

MediaRadar, now including the data and capabilities of Vivvix, powers the mission-critical marketing and sales decisions that drive competitive advantage. Our competitive advertising intelligence platform enables clients to achieve peak performance with always-on data and insights that span the media, creative, and business strategies of five million brands across 30+ media channels. As we expand our footprint from the US into Europe and deepen our focus on media intelligence, we're looking for engineers who can help scale our platform and products globally.

About the Role:

We're looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join our Client Apps team and independently own complex, ambiguous problems across our platform. You'll focus on Insights Studio, our unified insights application, and play a key role in migrating our Creative Intelligence application into the Insights Studio suite. As part of this effort, MediaRadar is consolidating products, each currently running on separate databases, onto a single ClickHouse source of truth. You'll work agentically, using Claude Code as a core part of how you design, build, and ship.

Requirements

Technical Must-Haves:

Agentic Coding: Hands-on, daily use of agentic coding tools (Claude Code) in Visual Studio or VS Code is a must.

Core: Expert-level Python (FastAPI), C#, and React/TypeScript.

Data: Strong SQL; ClickHouse experience is a big plus.

Cloud: Hands-on deployment experience with Azure and/or AWS.

Version Control: Git (GitHub).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Independent System Ownership: Design, build, and own complex, ambiguous features end-to-end, operating with minimal supervision.
  • Creative Intelligence Migration: Lead engineering work to migrate the standalone Creative Intelligence application into the broader Insights Studio suite.
  • Unified Data Platform: Help move Insights Studio applications onto a single ClickHouse backend, consolidating data from Publisher Intelligence, Sports, and MediaRadar Classic.
  • Performance & Scale: Tune query performance and data loading across large, fast-growing advertising datasets.
  • Agentic Development: Model and champion AI-first, agentic ways of working with Claude Code, helping the team adopt them effectively.
  • Mentorship: Mentor engineers and raise the technical bar across the team through code reviews and shared best practices.
  • Engineering Excellence: Drive testing, observability, code quality, and documentation standards across your area of ownership.
  • Cross-Functional Partnership: Collaborate day to day with developers in India and engineering peers in Toronto, and partner with Product, Data, and Operations on technical roadmap and integration strategy.

Key Qualifications:

  • Experience Level: 5–8 years of professional software engineering experience (Senior, individual contributor).
  • Full-Stack Expertise: Expert-level Python (FastAPI) with strong C# and React/TypeScript; comfortable owning production systems end-to-end.
  • Agentic/AI Experience: Proven, hands-on experience building with agentic coding tools (Claude Code) and AI-driven development workflows.
  • Data-Heavy Background: Track record of performance tuning, loading and querying large datasets; ClickHouse or other columnar/analytical databases strongly preferred.
  • Cloud: Proven experience deploying and operating systems on Azure and/or AWS.
  • Industry Relevance: Adtech, media, or analytics experience is a plus but not required.
  • Global Scope: Comfortable working across distributed, international teams spanning Spain, India, and North America.
  • Software Rigor: Strong grasp of architecture and design patterns, with a track record of mentoring other engineers.

Preferred Experience:

  • Platform: Kubernetes and ArgoCD.
  • Product Analytics: PostHog (nice-to-have).

Skill Focus for 2026/2027:

  • Insights Studio Consolidation: Bringing Creative Intelligence and other MediaRadar applications into a single, unified Insights Studio experience.
  • Single Source of Truth: Migrating Insights Studio data onto ClickHouse and optimizing performance at scale.
  • Agentic Engineering: Embedding agentic, AI-first development practices across the engineering team.
