At Comex 2000, we're delivering some of the UK's most critical infrastructure programmes, partnering with industry leaders including Virgin Media O2 and Openreach. As we continue to grow, embrace new technologies and deliver ambitious transformation projects, we're looking for an exceptional Head of SSHEQ to help shape the future of our business.

Reporting to the SSHEQ Director, you'll operate at the heart of the organisation, working closely with senior leaders to influence strategy, drive performance and embed a culture where safety, sustainability and quality are central to everything we do. This is a national role, requiring travel to sites across the UK.

With regular exposure to the Executive Leadership Team, operational leadership teams and key customers, you'll have a genuine platform to influence business decisions, shape strategic priorities and drive meaningful change across a growing and evolving organisation.

The Opportunity

You'll play a critical leadership role in driving our Safety, Sustainability, Health, Environment and Quality agenda across a national operation, supporting the delivery of major infrastructure programmes and helping shape how we continue to evolve.

You'll:

• Lead strategic SSHEQ initiatives that support business growth and operational excellence.
  
• Drive continuous improvement, innovation and transformational change.
  
• Champion the use of technology, data and insight to improve performance.
  
• Support and influence operational leaders to raise standards and embed best practice.
  
• Play a key role in delivering our sustainability and ESG ambitions.
  
• Develop and inspire a high-performing team and broader SSHEQ culture.
  
• Build trusted relationships with customers, stakeholders and senior leaders across the business.
  
• Act as a key advisor and partner to the SSHEQ Director on strategic business priorities.
  

Requirements

Who We're Looking For

We're looking for a credible, commercially-minded SSHEQ leader who thrives on influence, enjoys operating at pace and can build strong relationships with stakeholders at every level.

You'll be equally comfortable engaging with front-line operational teams, presenting to senior leaders, and representing the business with major customers. You'll know how to challenge constructively, gain buy-in and bring people with you on the journey.

You'll bring:

• Senior leadership experience within telecoms, infrastructure, utilities, construction or another complex operational environment.
  
• A proven track record of leading cultural change, improving performance and raising standards at scale.
  
• Strong commercial awareness, understanding how outstanding SSHEQ performance supports operational delivery, customer satisfaction and business growth.
  
• The confidence and credibility to influence senior stakeholders across the business and externally.
  
• Experience driving transformation, implementing new ways of working and embracing technology to improve outcomes.
  
• The ability to build strong relationships with customers and represent the business at a senior level.
  
• A passion for developing people, building capability and creating high-performing teams.
