UFORCE

Defense & Aerospace Manufacturing

UFORCE builds the world's most battle-proven autonomous weapons systems. Over 150,000 real combat missions. Sea, air, land, and intercept. Iterated under fire in Ukraine and now scaling globally for allied militaries. We started with operators who built and deployed these systems in active combat — then added Silicon Valley-grade engineering and a go-to-market model that treats defence like enterprise tech: ship fast, listen to the customer, iterate in 48 hours, and price at a fraction of anything legacy primes can offer. Our platform includes Magura — the autonomous USV that helped deny Russia's Black Sea fleet — Nemesis, the heavy-bomber UAV flying thousands of strike missions nightly, and Liut UGV ground combat robots. Our C2 and open platform architecture integrate third-party interceptors directly onto our unmanned platforms, enabling sea-launched counter-UAS intercept missions with any compatible effector. All NATO-compatible, all combat-proven, all available now. Every day our systems are in the fight, the data, iteration speed, and operational feedback compound — over 150,000 missions and counting. Our mission: make defence 100x cheaper than offense — and help free nations make aggression too expensive to consider. UFORCE: Ready to Fight Tonight.

Job description

UFORCE exists to make aggression unaffordable.

Founded in Ukraine and headquartered in London, UFORCE is a defence-technology company with operations across Europe, the United States and Asia.

UFORCE builds uncrewed vessels, ground robotics and aircraft, autonomy software, and the command-and-control layer that operates them together. Each platform is deployable on its own, and stronger as part of the system. Its product lines include the MAGURA family of uncrewed surface vessels, the NEMESIS family of strike platforms, the LIUT family of ground robotic platforms, and counter-UAS systems.

About the role

As a Mission Software Specialist at UFORCE, you’ll help customers deploy, operate, and sustain our software-enabled autonomous systems in real-world mission environments.

You’ll be the technical bridge between customers, field operations, product, and engineering—owning software deployment, configuration, troubleshooting, and operational readiness in the field. From preparing a system for deployment to resolving an issue during a customer mission, you’ll take responsibility for making the software work where it matters.

This is a hands-on, customer-facing technical role for someone who enjoys working across software, networking, and edge-compute systems. You’ll work independently, travel frequently, and turn field experience into better products and more repeatable deployments.

What you’ll do

  • Deliver mission-ready deployments. Install, configure, validate, update, and roll back software at customer and field locations. Complete readiness and acceptance testing, maintain clear documentation, and prevent avoidable configuration errors.

  • Keep systems operational in the field. Diagnose and resolve software, network, compute, and integration issues during testing, training, demonstrations, and customer missions. Use structured fault isolation to distinguish configuration, hardware, software, and operator issues.

  • Give engineering actionable evidence. Capture logs, system context, and reproduction steps; produce clear bug reports; and translate operator feedback into prioritized product requirements. Escalate appropriately while retaining ownership through resolution.

  • Build customer independence. Train operators and maintainers to use, troubleshoot, and sustain the system safely. Keep technical guidance current and help customers carry out routine recovery procedures without continuous support.

  • Make deployments repeatable. Develop and improve configuration baselines, checklists, deployment automation, and troubleshooting playbooks to reduce deployment time and undocumented field fixes.

  • Build trust through technical ownership. Communicate clearly with customers and internal teams, surface operational risks early, and balance immediate mission needs with long-term product improvements.

What we’re looking for

  • Hands-on experience administering Linux systems and independently deploying, configuring, and troubleshooting software.

  • Practical experience with Docker and containerized applications, including diagnosing container failures and managing software upgrades and rollback.

  • Strong networking fundamentals, including TCP/IP, Ethernet, routing, VLANs, VPNs, DNS, DHCP, and firewalls, with the ability to diagnose connectivity and bandwidth issues.

  • Ability to use SSH, logs, and system-health diagnostics to isolate problems across software, network, compute, and hardware interfaces.

  • Ability to write or modify Bash or Python scripts and use Git and version-control workflows.

  • Understanding of software release and CI/CD fundamentals, configuration management, and deployed or edge-compute environments.

  • A structured approach to troubleshooting, with sound judgment under time pressure and incomplete information.

  • Clear communication with both operators and engineers, including the ability to explain technical problems, document solutions, and deliver practical training.

  • Ability to work independently in fast-moving environments, coordinate across teams, and own problems through resolution without constant engineering support.

  • Willingness and ability to travel frequently and support field operations, including in austere or high-pressure environments.

Nice to have

  • Experience with autonomous vehicles, robotics, UAS, USVs, or other mission systems.

  • Experience with Kubernetes, Helm, Ansible, Terraform, or similar orchestration and infrastructure tools.

  • Backend development experience with Node.js and Python, including services, APIs, messaging, and system integrations.

  • Experience with ROS or ROS 2, MAVLink, or CAN/CANbus.

  • Hands-on experience with NVIDIA Jetson, Raspberry Pi, or similar edge-compute hardware.

  • Familiarity with TAK, ATAK, tactical networks, Starlink, or satellite communications.

  • Experience with cloud-connected and disconnected-edge architectures.

  • An active security clearance.

  • Previous forward-deployed, military, maritime, or expeditionary experience.

The nature of combat has changed.

Tomorrow’s battlefield success depends on autonomy, speed, and adaptability.

And UFORCE is ready.
