Job description

SUMMARY:

We are looking for a Senior Full Stack Engineer and hands-on Tech Lead to help build an end-to-end forecasting platform that brings machine learning into practical, user-facing applications.

You will work across React, Node.js and TypeScript in an AWS serverless environment, building distributed services and interfaces that support automation while allowing users to interact with forecasting models. The team places a strong emphasis on automated testing, reliable delivery and the effective use of AI across the software development lifecycle.

For Tech Lead positions, you will combine hands-on engineering with technical direction, architectural ownership and support for the wider team.

WHAT WILL YOU BE DOING:

As part of an agile software development team, you will:

  • Build and maintain full-stack applications using React, TypeScript, Node.js and NestJS.
  • Developing AWS serverless services, including Lambda functions written in TypeScript.
  • Design and evolve distributed systems and event-driven workflows using Amazon EventBridge, SNS, and SQS.
  • Building features that integrate with machine learning forecasting models, supporting automated workflows and human interaction.
  • Developing automated tests across unit, integration, and end-to-end layers, including Playwright, using sound judgment about where each test type adds value.
  • Improving CI/CD pipelines to support increasingly automated and reliable delivery.
  • Managing infrastructure as code using Terraform and contributing to delivery workflows through Jenkins.
  • Monitoring production services using Grafana for metrics and OpenSearch for logs and alerts.
  • Using AI-assisted development practices to improve engineering efficiency while maintaining code quality.
  • Collaborating with engineers, product stakeholders and colleagues working on forecasting models to deliver features across the platform.
  • Guide architecture and technical decisions, mentor engineers, and own technical delivery while staying actively involved in development.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:

  • Strong commercial experience delivering full-stack applications using TypeScript, React and Node.js.
  • Experience building backend services using NestJS or a comparable Node.js framework.
  • Strong hands-on experience with AWS serverless architecture, particularly Lambda.
  • A solid understanding of distributed systems and event-driven architectures, including asynchronous messaging, failure handling and service reliability.
  • Experience with Amazon EventBridge, SNS/SQS and DynamoDB, or closely related technologies and patterns.
  • A strong commitment to test automation, with experience across unit, integration and end-to-end testing.
  • Experience with Playwright or a comparable end-to-end testing framework.
  • Familiarity with Terraform, CI/CD pipelines and production observability.
  • Experience applying AI-assisted tools and practices across the software development lifecycle, with appropriate review and validation.
  • An understanding of how applications integrate with machine learning models to deliver useful product features, automation and user interaction. Dedicated MLOps expertise is not required.
  • A proactive, collaborative approach, with the ability to contribute independently and take ownership of complex engineering work.
  • Proven experience providing technical leadership, shaping architecture, supporting other engineers and guiding delivery in a complex distributed environment.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English

NICE TO HAVE:

  • Previous experience building forecasting, predictive analytics or other products powered by machine learning.
  • Experience designing interfaces and workflows that allow users to review and interact with model outputs.
  • Hands-on experience with Jenkins, Grafana and OpenSearch.
  • Experience improving delivery pipelines through advanced test automation and AI-assisted engineering.
  • Previous experience contributing to an end-to-end platform spanning frontend applications, backend services and model integration.

WHAT’S IN IT FOR YOU?

  • Be part of our collegial environment where responsibility and authority are shared equally amongst colleagues and help create our company culture.
  • A culture in which we don’t criticise failure but ensure we learn from our mistakes
  • An Agile environment where your ideas are welcome
  • The possibility to grow and experience different projects
  • Ongoing Training & Mentoring
  • The possibility of travelling
