Healthcare Staffing & Locum Tenens

You're looking for a new opportunity but you don't know where to start. You're looking to still do what you love—practice medicine—but you want more freedom. You're looking for something different, plain and simple. You've found it. With us you have the opportunity to practice in a variety of locales around the globe. It’s true. You can choose when and where you want to practice. Maybe you want to pick up some shifts around the U.S. We can help with that. Or maybe you have a bad case of wanderlust and want to explore overseas. We can help with that, too. Both short-term and longer-term assignments are always available. You can go from residency to practice, from full-time practice to part-time practice and from one practice to another. You can see how doctors in different practice settings, different cities, and even different countries deliver care. Don’t be burdened by the details. We handle all that so you're free: free to treat patients, free to build your knowledge, free to earn a competitive living and enjoy practicing medicine—without worrying so much about the business of medicine. For over 20 years we’ve been helping doctors like you experience somewhere new. Yes. Your profession and your adventures can coexist—no matter where you practice.

Job description

Healthcare’s helping hand.

CHG shook things up in 1979 by inventing the locum tenens staffing model. We connect doctors with patients who need their care. As the largest physician staffing firm in America, our providers treat millions of patients each year.

Our industry is growing and demand is high. This means you’ll have plenty of opportunities to grow and develop in your career. Keeping healthcare healthy can be as fun as it is rewarding

We are seeking a strategic, entrepreneurial, and execution-focused Principal/Director Product Manager, Services to identify, validate, launch, and scale innovative healthcare workforce solutions that combine technology, operational services, and industry expertise.

As a director-level individual contributor, this role operates at the intersection of product management, business strategy, operations, customer experience, and innovation. The role will lead the development of new offerings from concept through commercialization, partnering across Product, Engineering, Operations, Sales, Marketing, Finance, and Executive Leadership to deliver scalable solutions that address critical workforce challenges faced by healthcare organizations.

This role is ideal for a builder who thrives in ambiguity, enjoys creating new businesses and offerings from the ground up, and can bridge customer needs, operational realities, and technology capabilities to drive meaningful growth.

Responsibilities:

Innovation & New Venture Development

  • Identify emerging customer needs, market opportunities, and strategic growth areas aligned with company objectives.
  • Lead customer discovery, concept validation, pilot programs, and market testing efforts to assess market fit and business viability.
  • Develop business cases, investment recommendations, and commercialization strategies for new offerings.
  • Evaluate and prioritize opportunities across healthcare workforce services, technology-enabled solutions, and adjacent markets.
  • Partner with executive leadership to shape innovation priorities and growth investments.

  • Develop strategic recommendations using customer insights, market trends, and data-driven analysis.
  • Monitor market dynamics, competitive trends, regulatory considerations, and industry developments to inform future investments.

Product Design

  • Design scalable service offerings that effectively combine people, process, and technology.
  • Partner with operational leaders to define service delivery models, workflows, quality measures, and success metrics.
  • Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, quality, customer outcomes, and operational leverage through standardization and process optimization.
  • Ensure service models can be adopted, implemented, and scaled effectively across diverse customer environments.

Technology Enablement & Digital Experience

  • Identify opportunities where technology can enhance customer experience, provider engagement, service performance, and operational scale.
  • Translate business needs and operational workflows into product requirements, process improvements, and digital experiences.
  • Lead build-versus-buy-versus-partner evaluations and vendor assessments.
  • Ensure technology investments align with strategic objectives, customer outcomes, and long-term scalability.

Customer & Market Leadership

  • Engage directly with customers to understand challenges and validate solutions.
  • Serve as the voice of the customer across Product, Operations, Technology, and Commercial organizations.
  • Leverage customer insights, analytics, and market research to guide product strategy and investment decisions.
  • Conduct competitive analysis and identify opportunities for differentiation.
  • Measure adoption, satisfaction, operational impact, and business outcomes to continuously improve offerings.

Cross-Functional Leadership & Influence

  • Lead complex initiatives across Product, Engineering, Operations, Sales, Marketing, Finance, Customer Success, and Executive Leadership.
  • Influence decisions without direct authority through strong business acumen, strategic thinking, and executive communication.
  • Facilitate alignment among diverse stakeholders and competing priorities.
  • Present business cases, strategic recommendations, roadmap updates, and performance outcomes to senior leadership.
  • Drive accountability and momentum across teams to achieve desired business results.

Qualifications:
