Make an Impact as a Manager, Clinical Database Programming at Worldwide


As a Manager, Clinical Database Programming, you will play a key leadership role in ensuring the efficient, accurate, and timely delivery of clinical database programming activities that support high-quality clinical research.

In this role, you will lead and develop a team of Clinical Database Programmers while partnering with Data Management, sponsors, sites, and third-party vendors to deliver robust electronic data capture (EDC) solutions. Your leadership will help drive operational excellence, innovation, and quality across database development and maintenance activities.


You will have the opportunity to influence processes, support the implementation of new solutions, and contribute to the systems and workflows that enable reliable clinical data collection and management.


Where You'll Work


This is a REMOTE role open to candidates based in the US. You will collaborate with global teams across multiple time zones.


What You'll Do


  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of Clinical Database Programmers through performance management, training, and capability development.
  • Coordinate project assignments, timelines, and resource allocation to ensure high-quality and timely delivery of database programming activities.
  • Oversee EDC development and database configuration activities across internal and third-party platforms.
  • Review database build specifications, edit check specifications, validation plans, and reconciliation requirements to ensure quality and compliance.
  • Partner with sponsors, internal stakeholders, and external vendors to resolve issues, implement system enhancements, and support electronic data transfers.
  • Guide database testing, validation, maintenance, and deployment activities in accordance with departmental procedures and standards.
  • Contribute to the development of database libraries, system documentation, procedures, and best practices.
  • Drive process improvements, provide technical leadership for new solutions, and support ongoing monitoring of study and system metrics.
  • Support quality assurance, audit readiness, and continuous improvement initiatives across Clinical Database Programming.

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent relevant education and experience.
  • Experience leading or managing clinical database programming activities within a clinical research environment.
  • Strong knowledge of EDC systems, database configuration, validation, testing processes, and data management workflows.
  • Ability to review technical specifications, validation documentation, and database-related deliverables with a high level of accuracy.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with a methodical and logical approach to identifying and resolving issues.
  • Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to data quality and integrity.
  • Strong communication, collaboration, stakeholder management, and customer-focused relationship-building skills.
  • Proficiency in English and strong written and verbal communication skills.

At Worldwide Clinical Trials, we are committed to fostering an inclusive and equitable workplace by providing transparent compensation.

The salary range for this position is annually (For hourly paid positions, the stated salary range reflects hourly rates):


United States of America - $99,000.00 - $196,000.00


The salary range provided is intended to give candidates an understanding of potential earnings. Compensation will fall within the provided range, and it not a guarantee of exact salary. The final salary will be determined based on relevant experience, performance, education, and internal equity. In addition to base salary, we offer a competitive benefits package depending on location. We ensure pay equity and transparency and comply with all applicable labor laws. Salary information will be discussed during the interview process, and we encourage candidates to inquire about compensation at any stage.
