Bosch Japan

Automotive Parts & Components

Founded in 1886, Bosch Corporation is proud to look back on more than 130 years of cutting-edge technological innovation and ingenuity. To this day, the spirit of its founder and namesake Robert Bosch infuses the company with his mindset, his principles and his quotes, many of which are astoundingly forward-looking even today. The remarkable inventor and engineer, Robert Bosch opened his first workshop in the streets of Stuttgart where he created the foundations of what would one day become a multinational corporation that is represented in some 150 countries all around the world. As a leading global supplier of technology and services with roughly 375,000 associates worldwide and 6,600 associates at Bosch Japan, it is no exaggeration to say that the history of the automotive industry has been formed by Bosch's innovations. We do not just keep up with progress. We drive progress. For over a century, Bosch has served as a synonym for constantly pushing the limits, for creating the technology behind the technology, for enabling a working environment that emphasizes innovation, togetherness and excellence in everything we do. Whether you drive a car with ESP, use Bosch power tools or simply want to remotely turn on the air conditioning when leaving work using the MEMS sensor in your smart device: The spirit of excellence at Bosch becomes apparent in everything we develop. Just as Robert Bosch intended it when he set up shop in a small German town 130 years ago. In short, Bosch creates technology that is “Invented for life.”Imprint: bit.ly/bosch_imprint

Job Description

The Senior Sales Manager reports to the Director of Sales & Business Development for Roadside Protect and is responsible for driving business growth.  This critical role focuses on driving profitable revenue growth within the Automotive and Insurance industries, with a primary focus on securing and expanding partnerships with leading Asian OEMs, which represent an important growth sector. This is accomplished through a deep understanding of the Roadside Assistance and Connected Car market, a proven track record of closing complex deals, and the ability to drive incremental revenue through the strategic upsell of value-added services such as eCall and Stolen Vehicle Services (SVS). This is an individual contributor role with no direct reports, offering autonomy to build and manage your sales pipeline and key accounts directly.

  • Strategic Account Acquisition & Development:
    • Identify, target, and acquire new key accounts within the Automotive and Insurance industries, with a strong emphasis on Asian OEMs as priority targets, leveraging your extensive industry network.
    • Develop and nurture long-term strategic relationships with clients, ensuring high satisfaction and retention.
    • Drive Portfolio Expansion (Upsell & Cross-Sell): Proactively identify and close opportunities to upsell and integrate advanced Connected Car services - specifically eCall and Stolen Vehicle Services - into existing and new OEM and Insurance programs.
    • Navigate complex sales cycles, from initial contact to contract closure.
    • Demonstrate strong understanding of customer pain points to develop tailored Roadside Assistance solutions.
  •  Sales Strategy & Execution:
    • Own the entire sales process: prospecting, lead generation, pipeline management, and forecasting.
    • Conduct compelling sales presentations and business reviews for C-level executives.
    • Collaborate with internal teams to develop comprehensive proposals and contracts.
    • Drive new customer acquisition targets and contribute significantly to profitable revenue growth and market share expansion.
  •  Market Intelligence & Positioning:
    • Monitor market trends, competitive activities, and technological advancements within the Roadside Assistance, Automotive, and Insurance sectors.
    • Provide valuable insights to refine service offerings and market positioning.
    • Represent the company at industry events to promote our brand and identify new opportunities.
  • Please note this job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required.  Duties, activities, and responsibilities may change at any time with or without notice to meet the needs of the business.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s in business administration, marketing, or a related field.
  • Required 10+ years of progressive sales experience within the Roadside Assistance industry, specifically selling to automotive customers and/or Insurance carriers. Deep familiarity and proven success in working with Asian OEMs is highly preferred. (Industry experience is mandatory).
  • Proven track record of success in new customer acquisition and significant revenue expansion within existing accounts.
  • Demonstrated ability to close complex, multi-year contracts with large enterprise clients, particularly within the decision-making structures of major Asian automotive manufacturers  (OEMs, FMCs, vehicle service contract administrators, insurers).
  • Understanding of Connected Car ecosystems or telematics services, with a proven track record of successfully cross-selling premium service add-ons (such as eCall or SVS)
  • Exceptional negotiation and closing skills with a "get-it-done" sales mentality.
  • Strong business acumen and strategic thinking.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Highly organized, self-motivated, and able to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in CRM software (e.g., Salesforce) is a plus.
  • Willingness and ability to travel as required for customer needs and industry events.
