A Field Service Engineer for Leica Biosystems is responsible for visiting customers to perform preventative maintenance, repairs, fault analysis, and installation of medical devices. This position reports to the Field Service Team Leader and is part of the North Europe Service Team located in Poland and will be fully remote.


In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Carry out on site installation and maintenance of various Histopathology and ancillary equipment.  
  • Deliver accurate reporting, handling and timely submission of Salesforce reports, Expenses, Spares Stock management and other service documentation.
  • Work closely with Field Support Team to ensure all customers are provided with an industry leading professional after sales Service within the KPI’s set by Service Management.

The essential requirements of the job include:

  • Educated in a Mechanical, Electronic or Electrical or Biomedical qualification subject or job-related experience related to the role.
  • Demonstrate technical ability in mechanical strip down of assemblies and a willingness to learn complex mechanical and electrically controlled medical devices.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and computer literate with CRM tools such as SFDC/ Field Service.
  • Fluent Polish language in speaking & writing! Communicational English.

Travel, Motor Vehicle Record & Physical/Environment Requirements:

  • Ability to travel – 80% of time to be spent in the field including overnight stays when required.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record
  • Ability to lift & move up to 20kg safely.

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:

  • Experience in field service or a related role such as laboratory technician with a vocational qualification.
