Job Description

THE OPPORTUNITY 

Silvus is seeking an experienced, high-performing sales leader to serve asSenior Sales Director, Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) & Defense Primes. In this key leadership role, you will lead a high-performing team of Sales Directors responsible for driving B2B "design-win" revenue across major defense primes, uncrewed system manufacturers (UAS, UGV, USV, loitering munitions), systems integrators, and C-UAS platform builders.


This role focuses on establishing Silvus MANET mesh radios and spectrum sensing payloads as the factory-installed technical baseline embedded within our partners' hardware and software platforms. You will oversee the complete B2B sales lifecycle—from technical evaluation and flight/bench testing to Master Supply Agreements (MSAs) and recurring high-volume production orders. This role requires up to 50% travel for customer site visits, tactical field demonstrations, executive briefings, and major industry trade shows.


This position is eligible for 100% remote work depending on location.

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Business Ownership: Own and deliver annual order & revenue targets and long-term production forecasts for the OEM and Defense Primes vertical across North America. Own and deliver accurate sales forecasts for executive leadership. 
  • Team Leadership & Development: Onboard new hires, lead meetings, provide continuous training to the sales team.  Monitor sales team performance, conduct regular 1-on-1 with the team to refine selling skills.
  • Pipeline Management & Data Analysis: Drive pipeline velocity, rigorous CRM tracking, and accurate forecasting for all deals within the vertical.
  • Cross Functional Alignment: Work closely & collaborate with Silvus engineering, product development, marketing, and business development teams to grow the business.
  • Recruitment & Hiring: Actively source, interview, and hire to
  • p-tier sales talent to maintain a high-performing team and minimize territory gaps.
  • Customer Escalation: Step in to resolve complex customer issues, assist with high-stakes negotiations, or close major deals.
  • Strategy Implementation: Translate overarching company goals into actionable, daily tasks for the sales representatives.
  • Perform other related duties of which the above are representative.
  • Travel Requirement – Ability to travel up to 50% for customer site visits, tactical field demonstrations, executive briefings, and major industry trade shows.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Communications, or a related technical discipline and a minimum of 10 years of successful sales leadership experience in unmanned systems, tactical or public safety communications, C4ISR, electronic warfare, or defense/public safety technology; or Associate’s degree with a minimum of 12 years; or High School Diploma/GED with a minimum of 14 years. 
  • Domain Expertise: Deep understanding of procurement processes, budget cycles, and operational frameworks across Federal Markets and / or State & Local markets.
  • Leadership Track Record: 5+ years in a senior sales management or director-level role with experience building, scaling, and managing high-performing field sales teams with multi-million-dollar annual quotas. 
  • Technical Aptitude: Strong grasp of RF communications, tactical MANET mesh networking, software-defined radios (SDR), and spectrum awareness solutions.
  • Security Clearance: Active U.S. Government SECRET clearance or the ability to obtain one within 15 months of hire.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen due to clients under U.S. government contracts.
  • All employment is contingent upon the successful clearance of a background check and drug test.

WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Trade shows.
  • Outdoor environment for demonstrations.
  • Occasional exposure to heat, cold, and allergens while performing tests or demonstrations in the field.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to do the following:
    • Lift equipment up to 50 lbs. for the set-up of demonstrations and testing.
    • Perform bending and reaching movements to place items on lower and higher shelves.
    • Kneeling or squatting to access lower shelves.
    • Walking/Moving in the labs.

COMPENSATION: $150,000 - $190,000 / annual base salary plus commission.  OTE potential: up to $380,000
