The role is working within our studio: ZephyrMobile

You’ll be joining the ZephyrMobile team, which was originally formed in 2016 and has been part of Tripledot since May 2024.

The studio has achieved impressive success in the mobile puzzle games genre. Over 100 million people have installed games developed by the Zephyr team.

Zephyr is famous for its creative and inclusive atmosphere, where every member of the team can contribute ideas and suggestions towards game development.

The largest games produced by ZephyrMobile: Get Color, NutSort, Hey Color, Math Crossword, Block Away, Car Out!.

Role Overview

We're looking for a Senior Level Designer to join the ZephyrMobile team. You'll design and build levels for our puzzle mobile games, shaping progression, pacing and difficulty, and work closely with art, product and development teams. The ideal candidate knows puzzle games well and turns feedback and metrics into better levels.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and build new levels for multiple puzzle mobile games.
  • Balance gameplay elements within artistic and technical constraints.
  • Bring narrative and emotional goals into the gameplay experience.
  • Identify and resolve issues found through playtests and feedback from other teams.
  • Research new approaches and mechanics to improve the quality of our levels.
  • Maintain level documentation, including the specifics and goals of each level.
  • Mentor more junior level designers, sharing feedback and best practices to help them grow.
  • Work with art, product, game design and development teams to keep creative and technical goals on the same page.
Required Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
  • 3+ years of experience as a Level Designer in the gaming industry, specifically in casual or hyper-casual puzzle games.
  • Solid experience with Unity and level editors, including level setup, prefabs and in-game tools.
  • Strong understanding of level design fundamentals: progression, pacing, difficulty curves and player flow.
  • Experience designing puzzle mechanics (goals, blockers, boosters) and player's engagement.
  • Basic understanding of UX/UI principles in level design, including tutorial and onboarding design.
  • Data-driven mindset, with the ability to iterate based on feedback and metrics.
  • Strong expertise in casual mobile games and awareness of market trends.
  • Strong English and Russian communication skills.
Good to Have
  • Ability to read and analyse game metrics: funnel by level, average completion time, % completion and number of attempts.
