This is a paid internship, working 16 hours per week from Tuesday, January 19, 2027, through Friday, June 25, 2027. The current hourly rate is $19.61 per hour.
Position Summary:
KQED’s podcasts inspire and inform listeners, feed curiosity, and build community connections. Our shows are grounded in public service journalism, creative storytelling, and compelling audio design.
The KQED Podcast Operations and Engagement Intern plays a fundamental role within the department’s operations team and will work closely with the Executive Director of Podcast and Podcast Engagement Producer as they collaborate with podcast teams and other departments on audience growth and engagement efforts. This role will support KQED’s podcasts with tasks that may include: administrative support and copywriting for internal and external cross promos, data management, research, and other duties in support of production teams, as well as our audience engagement activities including social media content production, community interaction, and events planning.

This role will work hybrid between working in KQED's newly renovated headquarters and working remotely.

As an intern with the KQED Podcast department, you’ll get the chance to go behind the scenes of what it takes to run the business side of podcasting. You’ll dive into podcast metrics, contribute to promotional plans, learn about podcast audience strategy, flex writing and production muscles, and interface with multiple podcast production teams.
