Job description

Onsite or Remote- Based in Eastern or Central time zone (U.S.)

The Opportunity:

The Platform/Implementation Engineer is responsible for the hands-on technical deployment, configuration, integration, and validation of SPHEREboard within enterprise customer environments. Working closely with the Implementation Manager, project stakeholders, and customer infrastructure, identity, database, network, and security teams, this role helps move implementations from discovery through production readiness and customer handoff.

Success requires strong systems administration and troubleshooting skills, confidence working directly with customers, and disciplined follow-through.

Essential Functions:

Deployment & Configuration

  • Install, configure, and validate SPHEREboard components (application services, connectors, agents, and data collectors) and integrate them with directory services, identity platforms, databases, cloud platforms, and other enterprise data sources.

  • Execute implementation activities within the approved scope, project plan, security requirements, and change-management processes.

  • Validate data ingestion, normalization, completeness, and visualization within SPHEREboard before promoting integrations to production use.

Customer Partnership & Communication

  • Serve as a trusted, customer-facing technical partner from discovery through transition to operations, aligning technical work to the customer's business and security objectives.

  • Lead customer workshops, working sessions, and status calls, translating complex technical concepts, risks, and decisions into clear language for technical and business audiences.

  • Communicate progress, dependencies, risks, and blockers promptly; flag scope changes or unsupported approaches early and close the loop on commitments.

Technical Discovery

  • Gather technical, security, and operational requirements; identify integration points, dependencies, and risks; and confirm readiness of customer-provided servers, service accounts, firewall rules, and certificates.

Troubleshooting & Issue Resolution

  • Troubleshoot end to end across identity systems, operating systems, networks, DNS, ports and firewalls, permissions, certificates, application services, databases, connectors, and source data.

  • Use logs, queries, system utilities, and controlled testing to isolate root causes and distinguish product issues from environmental or configuration issues.

  • Escalate complex problems to Engineering, Product, Cloud, Security, and Support teams with complete evidence, business impact, and reproducible details.

Data Analysis & Validation

  • Develop and troubleshoot SQL queries, views, stored procedures, and data mappings needed to support implementations and validate results.

  • Reconcile source inventories against ingested data and produce validation summaries demonstrating coverage, data quality, and readiness for customer acceptance.

Documentation & Delivery

  • Create and maintain implementation documentation, including environment details, configuration records, runbooks, test evidence, and support procedures.

  • Provide customer administrator training and knowledge transfer, and share deployment lessons with Product and Engineering.

  • Work under the direction of the Implementation Manager to execute assigned work and report status accurately.

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of experience in Windows infrastructure engineering or administration, including roles in systems engineering, application implementation, professional services, or enterprise technical support.

  • Demonstrated experience working directly with enterprise customers on technical deployments, integrations, upgrades, or complex issue resolution.

  • Hands-on Windows Server administration experience, including IIS and .NET application hosting, services, permissions, file systems, logs, and command-line troubleshooting, plus working knowledge of Linux/UNIX.

  • Experience with Active Directory, including domain service accounts and the rights and permissions they require, plus familiarity with identity technologies such as Microsoft Entra ID, LDAP, or Okta and a practical understanding of identity and access management concepts.

  • Working knowledge of PKI, including requesting, installing, and binding CA-signed certificates with correct CN and SAN entries.

  • Strong network, firewall, and DNS troubleshooting skills, grounded in enterprise networking and security fundamentals such as TCP/IP, ports, proxies, and TLS.

  • Experience installing and configuring Microsoft SQL Server.

  • Proficiency with SQL for data analysis and troubleshooting, including joins, filtering, reconciliation, and validation within relational databases.

  • Strong PowerShell scripting skills for automating repeatable technical tasks; experience with Bash, Python, or a similar language is a plus.

  • Experience configuring and using monitoring and alerting to track system health and respond to issues.

  • Experience working within bank change-management processes.

  • Strong analytical, organizational, documentation, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and follow issues through resolution.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, sound judgment, and a customer-service mindset suited to both technical and nontechnical audiences.

Preferred Experience:

  • Experience implementing or supporting identity governance, privileged access, security, compliance, or data-governance platforms.

  • SQL Server high availability experience.

  • Familiarity with technologies such as CyberArk, ServiceNow CMDB, Microsoft Azure, AWS, Oracle, or other enterprise infrastructure and database platforms.

  • Experience with both SaaS and self-hosted enterprise software deployments, particularly in regulated or security-conscious environments.

  • Bachelor's degree in information technology, computer science, cybersecurity, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

  • Relevant technical certifications in Microsoft, Linux, cloud, networking, databases, security, or identity and access management.

Why Join Us:

  • Join a high-growth company shaping the future of identity security.

  • Be part of a collaborative culture that values innovation, transparency, and teamwork.

  • Work in a dynamic environment alongside talented colleagues, customers, and industry partners.

  • Enjoy a competitive compensation and benefits package with opportunities for professional growth.
