Position Summary

The Director of Procurement/Supply Chain will lead the strategy, development, and performance of the supply chain function across a multi-brand home services franchise platform. This role builds scalable procurement, distribution, inventory, and supplier-management capabilities that improve franchisee economics, service levels, and customer experience. This role will partner with brand leaders, franchise owners, finance, operations, technology, and suppliers to aggregate system purchasing power while preserving the flexibility required by different trades, markets, and business models.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supply chain strategy: Develop and execute an enterprise supply chain roadmap aligned with platform growth, brand priorities, franchisee needs, and financial objectives.
  • Strategic sourcing: Lead category strategies, competitive bids, negotiations, contracting, and supplier consolidation across equipment, parts, materials, vehicles, uniforms, technology, and other indirect spend.
  • Franchisee value: Create programs that deliver measurable savings, reliable availability, simplified ordering, and stronger local operating performance without compromising brand standards.
  • Supplier management: Establish preferred-supplier programs, governance, scorecards, service-level agreements, business reviews, and corrective-action processes.
  • Demand and inventory planning: Improve forecasting, replenishment, inventory visibility, and seasonal capacity planning in partnership with brands, distributors, and franchisees.
  • Distribution and logistics: Evaluate and optimize distribution models, freight, lead times, emergency fulfillment, and last-mile support across the franchise network.
  • Data and systems: Build spend analytics, dashboards, catalogs, and purchasing workflows; partner with technology teams to integrate supplier, ERP, POS, and franchise-management data where appropriate.
  • Risk and continuity: Identify supply, commodity, regulatory, geographic, and single-source risks; maintain practical business-continuity and alternative-sourcing plans.
  • Compliance and quality: Ensure suppliers and products satisfy applicable safety, quality, insurance, legal, environmental, and brand requirements.
  • Cross-functional leadership: Influence stakeholders across a decentralized system, communicate program value, and drive adoption through field engagement, training, and change management.
  • Team leadership: Build and develop a high-performing supply chain team and manage external consultants or service providers as needed.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, operations, business, finance, engineering, construction management, or a related field; advanced degree or relevant certification is a plus.
  • 10+ years of progressive experience in procurement, strategic sourcing, supply chain, distribution, or operations, including leadership responsibility within residential construction, remodeling, building products, or closely related industries.
  • Deep category knowledge of kitchen and bath remodeling materials, including cabinetry, countertops, plumbing fixtures, tile, flooring, hardware, appliances, and related installation products.
  • Demonstrated sourcing experience in exterior fencing systems and components, such as wood, vinyl, aluminum, chain-link, composite materials, gates, posts, hardware, and associated installation supplies.
  • Established relationships with manufacturers, distributors, wholesalers, fabricators, and installers serving residential construction and remodeling markets.
  • Demonstrated success negotiating complex supplier agreements and improving material cost, rebates, lead times, fill rates, quality, warranty support, and working capital.
  • Experience managing product specifications, substitutions, supplier qualification, quality standards, and code or compliance considerations for residential building and remodeling materials.
  • Experience supporting a multi-location, franchise, dealer, contractor, or similarly decentralized network, with the ability to balance enterprise purchasing leverage and local market requirements.
  • Strong commercial judgment, financial acumen, demand-planning capability, and command of supplier, category, inventory, and logistics management practices.
  • Ability to translate procurement opportunities into practical programs that improve franchisee economics, product availability, installation readiness, and customer experience.
  • Excellent executive communication, stakeholder management, negotiation, and change-leadership skills, with comfort operating in a growth-oriented environment.
  • Ability to travel periodically to franchise locations, supplier and manufacturing sites, distribution facilities, trade events, and company meetings.

Measures of Success

  • Verified savings and improved total cost of ownership for franchisees and the platform.
  • Increased preferred-supplier participation and franchisee program adoption.
  • Improved fill rates, on-time delivery, lead times, and critical-item availability.
  • Reduced supply disruption exposure and faster resolution of supplier performance issues.
  • Improved spend visibility, contract coverage, forecast accuracy, and inventory productivity.
  • Strong franchisee satisfaction and positive supplier and brand stakeholder feedback.
