Job description

Who is Bare

Bare is Australia's most highly rated end of life business, supporting Australian families through the hardest time in their life.

We are a company dedicated to providing accessible, affordable end-of-life care to change the way that Australians deal with death. Our aim is to change the game in the funeral industry, which has long provided expensive, traditional, cookie cutter services that don't always meet the
needs of the modern Australian.

By combining empathy with technology, we're creating end-of-life experiences that are simple, personalised and affordable. In only seven years, we've served more than 50,000 families, have become Australia's most awarded end-of-life provider (with awards in customer service, innovation and digital disruption), and have built a team of more than 200 people committed to changing the way Australians deal with end-of-life. And we're just getting started.

At Bare, our End-of-Life Concierges are often the first person a family speaks with when they reach out to us, making their role an important part of the care and support we provide from the very beginning. People reach out while they're considering their options, comparing providers and trying to make a big decision quickly. You'll be the person who helps them see why Bare is the right choice, and then makes it easy for them to say yes. You'll need to be a natural closer who moves fast, handles a high volume of enquiries and consistently converts. You'll also need the emotional intelligence to do all of that with people who are grieving, because how we win the work matters as much as winning it.

So what is the role, exactly?

We're looking for a high-performing, target-driven salesperson to join our End-of-Life team.

This is a phone-based sales role. You'll be speaking with families and individuals who have enquired about Bare, whether they need a funeral now, are planning ahead, or are comparing us with other providers. Your job is to understand what they need, show them clearly how Bare can help, and convert that enquiry into a family in our care. We support a large number of families, and speed matters. The faster we respond and the more confidently we guide someone, the more families choose us. So this role rewards pace, persistence and a genuine hunger to win. It also rewards judgement. The best people in this role never use pressure tactics. They win because they listen, they're clear, they're honest, and families trust them.

That makes sense, but what would my day-to-day look like?

In this role, you will:

  • Handle a high volume of inbound calls and enquiries from families considering Bare.

  • Respond quickly to new leads and follow up warm enquiries with persistence and purpose.

  • Quickly understand each family's situation, needs and budget, and recommend the right Bare service.

  • Explain our services, pricing and process with clarity and confidence.

  • Handle objections and comparisons with competitors calmly, honestly and persuasively.

  • Close: turn enquiries into confirmed arrangements, consistently and at volume.

  • Meet and exceed conversion, volume and response-time targets.

  • Keep our systems accurate and up to date, so every lead is tracked and nothing slips through.

  • Hand families over smoothly to our care and operations teams once they've chosen Bare.

  • Bring warmth and respect to every conversation, however fast the pace.

  • You will report into our End-of-Life leadership team and work closely with our care, operations and customer service teams.

    Your roster

This role works Monday, Tuesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday, with Wednesday and Thursday as your rest days. Weekends are when many families reach out to us, so we need our strongest converters on the phones then. Please only apply if this pattern works for you on an ongoing basis.

Ok, sounds great. Who are you looking for?

This is a high-performance sales role in a meaningful, sometimes emotionally heavy environment.

    You need:

  • A proven track record of hitting and exceeding sales targets, ideally in a high-volume, phone-based environment.

  • Strong closing ability. You know how to move a conversation from interest to commitment.

  • Speed. You work quickly, think on your feet and don't let a lead go cold.

  • Resilience and drive. You're motivated by targets and bounce back quickly from a no.

  • Confidence handling objections and competitive comparisons.

  • Genuine empathy and emotional maturity. You can read the room and adjust your approach when someone is grieving.

  • Integrity. You sell honestly and would rather lose a sale than mislead a family.

  • Comfort working with technology, CRMs and structured processes.

  • Clear, confident communication skills, especially over the phone.

  • Availability to work our Monday, Tuesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday roster.

  • Funeral industry experience is valued, but it's not essential. We're just as interested in strong performers from insurance, financial services, real estate, telco, energy, health or other high-volume inbound sales environments.

Most importantly, we want someone who believes in our mission. Everyone at Bare is driven by the impact of what we're doing, and we want that to continue with every new hire who joins our team.

Someone in our end-of-life team recently described their role this way: "This is the most impactful work I've ever done. I feel lucky to be able to help people that truly need support." So, there's that. We've also been named one of the 2026 Top 10 Inspiring Workplaces across Australasia, proof that our people-first culture is more than just talk. #PeopleFirst

    In addition, we offer:

    • A base salary from $80,000 + super, depending on experience

    • Great opportunities for personal growth, promotion and career development

    • Work-from-home flexibility, with plenty of autonomy and trust

    • A friendly, fun and supportive environment, where people genuinely love what they do

    • The chance to make an impact at one of the most critical moments in someone's life

The main reason you'll join, though, is because you believe in what we do and are excited to truly transform an industry.

Bare is an equal opportunity employer. We welcome applications from people of all backgrounds.
