Job description

ScorePlay is the AI-powered media infrastructure for sports, built to automate the content operations behind the world's biggest sports organizations. We work with 300+ leagues, competitions, teams and broadcasters – including Ligue 1 and Premier League clubs, NBA and NFL teams, the Tour de France, the Australian Open, and leading bodies like UEFA and FIBA – helping them turn every moment on and off the field into high-value, structured content. Our platform brings all their media into one place and makes it effortless to find, edit and share in seconds.

Founded in 2021, we’re a 50-person team based between New York and Paris, growing 2x year over year with 98% retention. We’ve raised $20M+ from top investors including Alexis Ohanian and Harry Stebbing’s 20VC and elite athletes like Kevin Durant, Raphaël Varane, Mario Götze, Nico Rosberg and Giannis Antetokounmpo.

If you’re passionate about sports and thrive in fast-paced environments - and you want to help shape how the next generation of fans experience sports, you’re in the right place. We’re on track to become the global leader in sports media, and this is definitely the best time to join our adventure.

💡 Overview

Your mission is to help our European prospects and customers understand what "good" looks like technically, then design a ScorePlay-backed workflow that actually works in the real world.

You partner closely with Sales across EMEA: scoping needs, answering technical questions, owning RFP responses, and building trust with media, production and IT stakeholders. The rest of your time goes to internal work: improving how we scope and price deals, building repeatable templates, and coordinating with partners when a solution involves more than just ScorePlay.

You will be a translator and a trusted advisor, one foot in customer reality, one foot in our engineering context. You are not here to "pitch." You are here to make the right solution clear, credible, and feasible.

🧠 What you'll work on

RFPs and formal evaluations

  • Own ScorePlay's response to RFPs and tenders across EMEA, end to end. Most of our large and complex European deals now go through one, so this is the single biggest block of your week.

  • Assemble the document yourself, pulling in Sales, Product and Engineering where you need them. We have templatised a lot of it, but the quality of the answer is yours.

  • Be the technical voice in complex evaluations, including archive migration and multi-system environments.

Pre-sales technical discovery and solution design

  • Join sales cycles once conversations become technical (often from the second meeting onward) to uncover constraints, map workflows, and shape the right approach.

  • Translate customer goals into clear end-to-end workflows: capture, ingest, management in ScorePlay, distribution.

  • Produce architecture diagrams and workflow maps that help technical and non-technical audiences align quickly.

  • Partner with Sales on deal scoping and cost inputs: what's included, what's optional, what needs a partner quote.

Enablement and artifacts for the team

  • Build the documentation, templates and technical collateral that Sales uses without you in the room.

  • Answer the day-to-day technical questions coming from six to seven salespeople across the region.

  • Feed recurring workflow patterns and customer constraints back into Product and Tech so we improve what we sell and how we deliver it.

Partners, suppliers and handover

  • Build and manage relationships with systems integrators and workflow vendors, and bring them into deals when a solution needs more than one party.

  • Work closely with the Deployment Engineer who owns post-sign implementation, ensuring a clean handover.

  • Occasionally get your hands dirty on the customer's side when it unblocks progress.

🏆 Why ScorePlay?

A few signs you might love working here:

  • You want to work at the intersection of sports, media, and real technical workflows.

  • You enjoy being the person who makes complex things feel clear and credible, especially with mixed technical audiences.

  • You like being close to deals without being "Sales," and you care about building the right solution.

  • You thrive in a scale-up where structure is still being built and your work becomes the playbook.

  • You want global-level sports customers and high-stakes implementations, with a team split between New York, Paris and across Europe.

🧩 What we're looking for

Must have

  • Around 2 to 5 years in a technical role with real customer exposure. Solutions Engineer, Sales Engineer, Implementation, Technical Account Management, or an engineering role where you got pulled into pre-sales and design work.

  • Genuinely strong interpersonal skills. You can hold a room with a mixed technical and non-technical audience and be the person they trust.

Nice to have

  • Awareness of media, broadcast or Media Asset Management workflows. Useful context, not a requirement.

  • Comfort reasoning about deal scoping, tradeoffs and what drives complexity.

How you work

  • Curious and hungry. You ask the next question rather than waiting to be told.

  • Self-sufficient, and comfortable in an environment where the process is still being written.

  • Honest about tradeoffs. You can represent ScorePlay credibly, say what we do not do, and still guide the customer to the right outcome.

  • Thoughtful about AI. You use it where it makes you faster and you know where it makes you sloppy.

🗺️ Location and travel

Remote, anywhere in Western Europe, with one practical requirement: you live within about an hour of a major international airport. You will travel roughly 20-30% of the time, mostly to client sites and industry conferences, and we would rather that not be a chore for you.

UK and Ireland, France, Spain, Italy, Netherlands and the Nordics are where most of our European business sits, so those are the easiest fits. We will look at other locations for the right person.

We know many people hesitate to apply if they don’t meet every single requirement on a job description. If you’re interested in ScorePlay but not sure you tick all the boxes, we’d still love to hear from you, this could be the start of a great long-term collaboration.
