Role Overview 

We are seeking a Vice President, Global Market Access to join our Commercial team. The Vice President, Global Market Access will lead the strategic development and execution of market access and health policy initiatives and engagement supporting the successful launch of and sustainable patient access to Immatics’ targeted TCR-based immunotherapies for solid tumors.  

Reports to: Chief Commercial Officer

Location: US, Fully Remote
Salary Range: $290,000 - $340,000  

Basic Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s scientific degree required
  • 20+ years of experience within the biotechnology or innovator pharmaceutical industries with positions of increasing responsibility 
  • Launch experience and market building in the US required
  • In-depth knowledge of healthcare systems, pricing and reimbursement processes, identifying health economics evidence generation needs, crafting payer value propositions, billing and coding processes, specialty product sales, brand marketing, new product planning / lifecycle management and regulatory landscapes required. 

Preferred Qualifications:  

  • MBA strongly preferred 
  • 15+ years in the Market Access and Government Affairs and/or Health Policy functions 
  • Launch experience in global markets preferred. 
  • Direct experience in cell therapy, gene therapy, or other one-time or durable therapies, with hands-on responsibility for site-of-care strategy, provider or institutional contracting, and medical benefit coverage.  
  • Experience with therapies administered in a restricted or authorized treatment center network is strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated command of medical benefit reimbursement mechanics, including coding, coverage, and payment across inpatient and outpatient settings.
  • Track record of working collaboratively with legal, compliance, medical affairs, regulatory, finance and other cross-functional colleagues to meet complimentary company, market and brand objectives. 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with demonstrated ability to engage, influence, and align around key decisions with a wide variety of stakeholders. 
  • Significant experience leading cross-functional projects and / or teams and presenting to senior executives and external audiences. 
  • Experience with US and ex-US government agencies including: CMS, CMMI, FDA, EMA, and experience with EU HTA Regulation Joint Clinical Assessment and ATMP reimbursement pathways
  • Successful small company, pre-commercialization experience is highly preferred. 

 In this role you will: 

  • Own site-of-care and provider economic strategy across site of care settings — including MS-DRG adequacy, NTAP, ICD-10-PCS/CPT/HCPCS coding strategy, buy-and-bill vs. alternative acquisition models
  • Shape and monitor medical benefit coverage policy across Medicare (Parts A and B), Medicaid, and commercial payers — including NCD/LCD strategy, medical policy criteria, prior authorization and single case agreement pathways — to minimize avoidable delay between patient identification and apheresis.
  • Identify and resolve reimbursement and affordability barriers across the full cell therapy patient journey
  • Serve as the Market Access Subject Matter Expert across Immatics’ executive leadership teams and senior management to inform and guide strategy development
  • Build and lead a best-in-class Global Market Access organization that supports all assets from early pipeline, through clinical development, to pre-launch preparations and finally into market approval and full-scale commercialization.
  • Develop and execute comprehensive market access strategies to ensure optimal pricing, coverage, reimbursement, distribution, and access for Immatics’ cancer immunotherapy ambitions.
  • Lead the development and integration of value evidence requirements for payers, and other stakeholders into clinical development plans and overarching Commercial strategy.
  • Oversee and drive the execution of the value access plan – including gaining early payer insights & advice during the FDA’s pre-approval information exchange (PIE) period – to support value demonstration and positive reimbursement / health technology evaluations.
  • Engage with payer organizations and drive the conversations and negotiations that help shape ideal coverage and reimbursement policies for Immatics’ forthcoming cancer immunotherapies—thereby achieving pre-defined access goals for our products.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including government and commercial payers, providers, patient advocacy groups, and industry partners to drive market access initiatives and support appropriate patient access to Immatics’ therapies.
  • Represent and champion Immatics’ Market Access concerns and interests with current and prospective collaboration partners
  • Work closely with other Immatics’ functions and departments – including Commercial, Medical Affairs, Regulatory, Legal, Finance, and Manufacturing – to align around market access imperatives that also support broader business objectives.

Travel Requirements:

  • Up to 30% travel required, domestically and internationally.
