Job description

WHAT IS AVID?

We’re a nationally recognized nonprofit that partners with 7,500 schools across the country and internationally to shift to a more equitable, student-centered approach, closing the opportunity gap so that ALL students are prepared for college, career, and life. And the results? Well, they speak for themselves.

AVID students overcome obstacles and succeed, graduating and attending college at higher rates. More importantly, they think critically, collaborate, and set high expectations to tackle future challenges.

AVID is implemented in more than 7,400 K–12 schools across the United States, plus schools in Washington, D.C., the Department of Defense Education Activity (DoDEA), the U.S. Virgin Islands, Canada, and Australia.

WHAT IS THE JOB?

As Vice President, National Programs, you will provide visionary leadership to the AVID Center's regional teams, overseeing and coordinating regional staff, and driving recruitment and retention of new and existing programs. You will manage multi-state operations, engage with various stakeholders, and ensure high-quality implementation of the AVID College Readiness System. To be considered for this opportunity, you must live in California.

  • Company-Provided Equipment: Our home office set-up includes a laptop, dock, and extra monitor, with other amenities available on request. We offer a home internet allowance and a cell phone allowance, totaling $125 per month.

  • Health and Welfare Plans to Support Every Aspect of Your Well-Being: AVID Center offers several benefits plans through our provider, Aetna, and greatly subsidizes the cost of these plans.

* Only positions that are director-level and above are eligible to participate in AVID's 457(b) retirement plan.

Required Qualifications:

AVID Center is committed to complying with federal, state, and local laws on employee vaccinations, and candidates and employees should be aware that the full vaccination against COVID-19 may be required in the future. Due to some district requirements, AVID Center may not assign employees to an in-person event in schools or districts unless they are fully up to date with all recommended COVID-19 vaccinations. AVID Center is an equal opportunity employer and will provide reasonable accommodation to those unable to be vaccinated where it is not an undue hardship to the company to do so as provided under federal, state, and local law.

To demonstrate this commitment, we encourage all who are truly excited about this role to apply, even if they don’t meet every requirement.
