Tech Lead – AI Integration & Full Stack Engineering (Offshore)

Comprehensive Job Description
The Tech Lead will oversee an offshore engineering team responsible for full-stack development, API integration, and conversational AI enablement, driving the transformation of both legacy and cloud-based systems. This role requires a blend of leadership, hands-on technical contributions, and cross-team coordination to ensure successful delivery across two conversational platforms, Parloa integrations, and enterprise API ecosystems. Experience in a transformation like this is a must.
This individual will guide API-focused full-stack engineers and AI developers specializing in prompt engineering and chatbot integration. The Tech Lead will manage the entire technology transformation project for IVR and Chat teams, ensuring all deliverables align with design and architectural standards. The role demands coordination across AI Developers, API Integrators, DevOps, and other stakeholders, providing technical oversight, validating quality, answering technical questions, and integrating offshore colleagues into onshore work pods.

Key Responsibilities

  • Team Leadership & Delivery Oversight: Provide technical leadership, mentorship, and code-quality oversight for offshore full-stack and AI developers. Drive daily execution and delivery consistency across API and AI workstreams. Coordinate with onshore solution architects, platform leads, and engineering managers for delivery alignment.
  • System Integration: Lead the integration of legacy systems (e.g., WCF services) wrapped into RESTful APIs. Oversee middleware and connector development between enterprise APIs and Parloa conversational AI platform. Guide specifications, data contracts, and message format alignment across backend, middleware, and conversational layers.
  • Conversational AI & LLM Enablement: Direct prompt engineering, LLM tuning, and conversational flow optimization for both voice and chat experiences. Lead integration work with chatbots, agent solutions, and cloud-based AI systems (Parloa, Amazon Q/Bedrock). Collaborate with data engineering teams to enhance end-to-end conversational IT experiences.
  • Hands-On Engineering & Quality: Contribute to complex API integration, payload mapping, backend logic, and cloud service development. Ensure reliability, performance, and scalability across two conversational channels.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with platform teams, AI developers, and enterprise engineering groups to ensure seamless API consumption and conversational experiences. Support documentation, testing, deployment, and CI/CD pipeline improvements.
  • Project Oversight: Monitor project progress and resolve technical challenges. Facilitate collaboration between Classic and V5 core teams. Participate in design and architecture conversations, guiding technical decisions.

Required Qualifications

  • Transformation: Must have telco transformation experience
  • Technical: Strong experience in full-stack development and backend engineering. Hands-on expertise modernizing and integrating legacy APIs, including WCF to modern REST. Proficiency with prompt engineering, and conversational AI development. Experience integrating APIs with chatbot/voice solutions (Parloa or similar). Solid understanding of cloud platforms (preferably AWS) and microservices architectures.
  • Leadership: Demonstrated experience leading or mentoring engineering teams (onshore/offshore or distributed). Proven track record managing technology transformation projects, preferably in IVR and conversational AI domains. Strong communication skills, with ability to translate architecture into actionable engineering tasks. Excellent stakeholder management and coordination abilities.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with conversational AI platforms (Parloa, Amazon Q, Bedrock).
  • Exposure to Webex, cloud contact center technologies, or Salesforce.
  • Familiarity with LLMs, agentic AI systems, and RAG architectures.
  • Background in scaled delivery, factory-model, or high-volume production engineering.
  • Knowledge of modern DevOps and CI/CD practices.
