Job description

We are seeking an experienced Senior Performance Marketing Specialist to lead the strategy, execution, quality, and performance of paid acquisition programs across search, social, video, programmatic, and emerging digital channels.

This is a highly hands on role for a performance marketer who understands the details behind successful campaigns and knows how to turn data into action. You will work closely with agency partners while maintaining direct ownership of campaign quality, paid search and social strategy, budget optimization, experimentation, and performance reporting.

The ideal candidate brings strong agency experience, deep SEM expertise, excellent analytical judgment, and an exceptionally high standard for execution. You know what strong performance marketing looks like, can quickly identify when something is not working, and are comfortable holding both internal and external partners accountable for results.

This role offers significant ownership of paid media strategy and the opportunity to influence growth across campaigns targeting highly technical and developer focused audiences.

What You Will Do

Performance Marketing Strategy

• Own paid search strategy across Google Ads, Microsoft Ads, SA360, and related SEM platforms

• Develop keyword architecture, match type strategies, bidding frameworks, audience strategies, and budget allocation plans

• Oversee paid social strategy across platforms including Meta, Reddit, X, TikTok, and emerging channels

• Manage campaign performance with a focus on CPA, ROAS, LTV to CAC efficiency, payback periods, and overall growth

• Identify opportunities to improve performance through targeting, creative, bidding, landing page, and channel optimization

Agency Management and Quality Assurance

• Serve as the primary day to day partner for external agencies managing paid search, paid social, video, and programmatic campaigns

• Establish priorities, expectations, optimization cadences, and service standards

• Review campaign builds, keyword lists, bid strategies, audience targeting, ad copy, tracking, tagging, and budget pacing before launch

• Conduct detailed quality reviews of creative assets to ensure they meet platform requirements and specifications

• Maintain consistent campaign naming conventions, taxonomy, UTM structures, documentation, and organizational standards

• Proactively identify performance gaps, execution issues, risks, and opportunities for improvement

• Hold agency partners accountable while maintaining productive and collaborative working relationships

Experimentation and Optimization

• Develop and manage a structured testing roadmap across creative, audiences, landing pages, bidding strategies, and campaign structure

• Partner with agencies and internal stakeholders to establish clear testing methodologies

• Analyze test results and ensure learnings are documented and incorporated into future campaigns

• Continuously evaluate opportunities to improve efficiency, acquisition performance, and growth

Analytics and Reporting

• Build and maintain dashboards and performance reporting frameworks

• Analyze campaign performance, attribution, budget pacing, and acquisition trends

• Translate complex performance data into clear recommendations for marketing, product, growth, and leadership stakeholders

• Communicate performance updates, insights, potential risks, and recommended actions proactively

Programmatic and Emerging Media

• Oversee agency execution of programmatic campaigns across platforms such as The Trade Desk and DV360

• Support audience targeting, contextual placements, retargeting, and programmatic optimization

• Evaluate direct media opportunities across newsletters, industry publications, trade publications, and specialized digital properties

• Identify and test emerging channels, sponsorship opportunities, and media partnerships based on potential ROI

Required Qualifications

• 5 to 8 years of performance marketing experience with significant expertise in SEM and paid search

• Advanced experience with Google Ads, Microsoft Ads, SA360, and other paid acquisition platforms

• Strong paid social experience across major digital advertising platforms

• Experience managing substantial paid media budgets with measurable performance outcomes

• Demonstrated experience managing and evaluating external agency partners

• Strong campaign QA experience across targeting, tracking, creative, campaign structure, budget pacing, and taxonomy

• Strong analytical skills with experience using platforms such as Google Analytics, Looker, Tableau, or comparable analytics tools

• Experience interpreting attribution and performance data and translating findings into optimization strategies

• Experience designing and evaluating A/B and multivariate testing across creative, audiences, landing pages, and bidding strategies

• Excellent organizational skills and exceptional attention to detail

• Strong communication skills with the ability to identify issues early and present clear solutions and recommendations

• Bachelor's degree required

Preferred Qualifications

• Agency background managing multiple clients or accounts simultaneously

• Experience marketing to developers, engineers, data scientists, or other technical audiences

• Experience with programmatic advertising and DSP platforms including The Trade Desk or DV360

• Knowledge of mobile measurement and attribution platforms such as Singular, AppsFlyer, or Adjust

• Experience working across search, social, video, programmatic, and emerging acquisition channels

This position provides meaningful ownership over high visibility performance marketing programs and substantial paid media investments.

You will have the opportunity to shape paid acquisition strategy, influence how agency partners operate, experiment across established and emerging channels, and directly connect marketing decisions to measurable growth outcomes.

For someone who combines deep performance marketing expertise with analytical thinking, attention to detail, and a drive for continuous optimization, this role offers both strategic influence and hands on ownership.
