Job description

The Senior Integration Developer will design, build, and support integration solutions that connect Alimentiv’s business, clinical, and data platforms. This role requires strong experience with Azure Integration Services, including Azure Service Bus, Logic Apps, Azure Functions, Event Grid, and API Management, with exposure to equivalent AWS services such as Lambda, SQS, SNS, and EventBridge. The Senior Integration Developer will develop reliable, secure, and well-monitored integrations using APIs, messaging, and event-driven patterns, and will support automation and production deployments through CI/CD. The role will follow established architecture, engineering standards, and security and data governance requirements, including GxP and HIPAA/GDPR where applicable. The Senior Integration Developer will work closely with lead engineers, application owners, vendors, and business stakeholders, contribute to technical design decisions, and provide guidance to junior developers while delivering high-quality integration solutions aligned with organizational objectives


Integration Design & Development - 55%
  • Design, build, and maintain integration solutions using Azure Logic Apps, Azure Functions, Azure Service Bus, Event Grid, and API Management.
  • Develop REST/JSON and SOAP/XML API integrations between internal systems, SaaS applications, vendors, and the Alimentiv Data Platform.
  • Implement messaging and event-driven patterns, including queues, topics/subscriptions, publish/subscribe, and dead-letter handling.
  • Build serverless functions in Python and/or C# for transformation, orchestration, and custom connectors.
  • Design integrations for reliability, including retries, idempotency, error handling, and message ordering.
  • Optimize integrations for performance, scalability, and cost efficiency.

  • Logging, Monitoring & Support - 10%
  • Implement centralized logging and monitoring using Azure Monitor, Application Insights, and Log Analytics.
  • Build alerts, dashboards, and health checks to track integration performance and failures.
  • Use correlation IDs and structured logging for end-to-end traceability across systems.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve production integration issues, including root cause analysis.
  • Support incident, problem, and change management processes for integration services.

  • Automation, DevOps & Multi-Cloud 10%
  • Automate build and deployment of integration components using Terraform and Git-based CI/CD.
  • Provision and manage integration infrastructure using infrastructure as code (Bicep, ARM, or Terraform).
  • Develop reusable integration templates, patterns, and shared components.
  • Develop automated unit, integration, and regression tests for integration workflows.
  • Build and support integrations using AWS services such as Lambda, SQS, SNS, EventBridge, and API Gateway where required by clients or vendors.

  • Security, Compliance & Governance - 10%
  • Secure integrations using Microsoft Entra ID, managed identities, OAuth 2.0, and Azure Key Vault.
  • Ensure no credentials or secrets are hardcoded, in line with Alimentiv IT security policies.
  • Ensure compliance with GxP, GDPR/HIPAA, and related regulatory frameworks.
  • Maintain audit trails and support validation documentation for integrations with regulated systems.
  • Develop and maintain integration documentation, interface specifications, and an integration catalog.
  • Conduct code reviews, performance tuning, and security reviews of integration workloads.

  • Stakeholder Engagement & Leadership - 15%
  • Participate in technical design reviews, support junior developers, and promote integration best practices.
  • Work with cross-functional teams, application owners, vendors, and stakeholders to gather, define, and refine integration requirements.
  • Collaborate with business and IT stakeholders to ensure integration solutions support organizational objectives.
  • Recommend the right integration approach (API, messaging, event-driven, or batch) to meet business and technical requirements.
  • Contribute to integration architecture, technical roadmaps, and technology evaluations.
  • Identify opportunities to improve integration processes, performance, reliability, and efficiency, and recommend solutions to technical and functional leaders.

  • Qualifications

    Job Experience & Education Requirements:

    Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field (Master’s preferred)

    And

    5–8 years of experience designing and developing enterprise integration solutions (APIs, messaging, event-driven and serverless architectures)

    Other:

    Expert-level proficiency in Azure Integration Services, including Azure Service Bus, Logic Apps, Azure Functions, Event Grid, and API Management. Strong experience with logging and monitoring using Azure Monitor, Application Insights, and Log Analytics (KQL). Exposure to equivalent AWS services such as Lambda, SQS, SNS, EventBridge, and API Gateway. Strong programming skills in Python and/or C#, and working knowledge of SQL. Experience designing and consuming REST APIs using JSON, XML, OpenAPI, and OAuth 2.0. Working knowledge of CI/CD automation (GitHub Actions), version control (Git), and infrastructure as code (Terraform, ARM, or Bicep). Experience integrating with data platforms such as Databricks or Microsoft Fabric is an asset. Experience in life sciences or healthcare industries is a strong plus. Good understanding of GxP, GDPR/HIPAA, and applicable CFR/CTR/CTD regulations. Demonstrated success working with IT, business, and vendor stakeholders. Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills. Proven ability to work independently and as part of a team and meet important deadlines.
