This role will lead the development, governance, and execution of Acuity Brands Lighting's supplier risk management and materials compliance activities within the Sourcing and Procurement organization. The Sourcing Manager Lead will own programs and processes related to supplier financial risk, ESG and sustainability risk, supplier insurance certificates, sanctions screening, and material compliance initiatives, including PFAS identification, restricted material management, and advancement toward full material disclosure. The successful candidate will partner with outside risk management vendors, interface with suppliers, and coordinate cross-functionally with leaders across Sourcing, Procurement, Legal, Compliance, Engineering, Quality, Sustainability, Finance, and Operations to increase awareness, drive accountability, and resolve identified risks.
Supplier Risk Management Program Leadership: Develop, govern, and continuously improve supplier risk management processes across the sourcing and procurement supplier lifecycle, including supplier financial risk, ESG risk, sanctions screening, operational risk, and supplier insurance compliance.
Materials Compliance and Disclosure: Lead full materials compliance initiatives, including PFAS identification, restricted substance data collection, supplier material declarations, and progress toward full material disclosure across priority commodities and supplier segments.
Vendor and Supplier Coordination: Coordinate with outside risk management vendors and suppliers to collect, validate, and maintain required risk and compliance information, ensuring timely completion of assessments, insurance certificate updates, sanctions screening, ESG questionnaires, and material compliance requests.
Cross-Functional Risk Resolution: Partner with leaders in Sourcing, Procurement, Legal, Compliance, Engineering, Quality, Sustainability, Finance, and Operations to communicate risk findings, align on mitigation plans, escalate critical issues, and drive timely closure of corrective actions.
Governance, Reporting, and Continuous Improvement: Establish risk scoring, dashboards, KPIs, escalation paths, and leadership reporting to monitor risk posture, track program performance, and identify opportunities to improve processes, controls, and supplier engagement.
Additional Support: Support procurement transformation initiatives, supplier management process improvements, and emerging regulatory or business risk requirements, along with other duties as assigned.
Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, Finance, Sustainability, or a related field required.
Advanced degree or relevant professional certification, such as CPSM, CPM, APICS/CSCP, PMP, or a compliance/risk certification, preferred.
7+ years of experience in strategic sourcing, procurement, supplier management, supplier risk management, materials compliance, sustainability, quality, or related supply chain functions.
Demonstrated experience building or managing supplier risk programs, including financial risk assessments, ESG/sustainability reviews, sanctions screening, supplier due diligence, insurance certificate management, and supplier corrective action tracking.
Working knowledge of materials compliance and product regulatory requirements, including PFAS, restricted substances, supplier material declarations, and full material disclosure practices.
Ability to translate complex regulatory, risk, and supplier requirements into practical sourcing and procurement processes, controls, reporting, and supplier engagement plans.
Strong cross-functional leadership skills with the ability to influence stakeholders, align priorities, and drive risk mitigation actions without direct authority.
Strong analytical capability, including experience developing KPIs, dashboards, supplier scorecards, risk scoring methods, and executive-level reporting.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly communicate risk topics to suppliers, sourcing teams, functional leaders, and senior leadership.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
Experience coordinating with third-party risk management vendors, compliance platforms, and supplier data providers.
Experience with Power BI (DAX), supplier management systems, GRC/risk platforms, PLM systems, or ERP systems.
Sourcing or procurement experience with direct materials, manufacturing suppliers, electronics, components, or regulated product categories.
