Danish Crown

Food & Beverage Manufacturing

The Danish Crown Group is a global food processing company and among the largest in its field. The Group is the world’s largest pork exporter and Europe’s largest pork processor. Furthermore, Danish Crown Beef is a significant player in the European beef market. Just like the crops in the fields continuously change, Danish Crown tirelessly refine and improve how we work, from farm to fork, to ensure good, safe food for people around the world to enjoy. Our history goes back to 1887 and the Danish cooperative movement, and responsibility towards society, our employees and our owners, the farmers, is quite simply in our genes. As a global leader in sustainable meat production, we have big obligations; not just to deliver, but to explore new opportunities. We still have a long way to go and face many challenges. But we remain committed to improving how food is produced - with respect for animals, people and the environment. In this quest, we are prepared to challenge ourselves, the industry and the market. This journey is not ours alone, but we promise to be the leaders of change. Only together can we reach our goal of a more sustainable food production by fundamentally changing the ways in which we both produce and consume food. You will become a part of a strong culture with roots in the Danish co-operative movement, and at all levels of the organization, you will be met by an informal and direct tone. Together, we are creating a more sustainable future for food.

Demand Planning Specialist

Govern and continuously improve demand forecasting across categories and markets to ensure transparent demand signals and robust alignment between supply and commercial performance.

What you will be doing

Reporting directly to the S&OP Manager in this Rochdale-based role with remote working flexibility, you will own the demand plan, leading collaborative reviews and driving forecast accuracy across the organisation.

  • Developing and maintaining demand forecasts for assigned categories and markets.
  • Leading demand reviews and collaborating with Sales, Category, Supply Planning and Master Planning teams.
  • Monitoring forecast accuracy, bias and demand volatility KPIs to reduce forecast risk.
  • Supporting weekly S&OE and monthly S&OP processes to align short-term execution with long-term goals.
  • Conducting scenario planning and analysing the impact of demand changes on service levels, inventory and capacity.
  • Driving continuous improvements to forecasting processes, planning tools and machine learning models.

What you will bring

We are looking for an analytical, proactive professional who can translate complex data into clear, actionable insights. You will bring the commercial awareness needed to evaluate market volatility alongside the communication skills to align cross-functional stakeholders.

  • Experience: Relevant BSc or MSc degree in Supply Chain, Business, Economics or equivalent practical experience in demand planning and forecasting, ideally within FMCG, food manufacturing or retail environments.
  • Hard skills: Advanced Microsoft Excel capability, strong data interpretation abilities and experience with planning systems such as SAP APO, SAP IBP or similar software.
