Working with cross-functional leaders, this role translates business needs into practical, scalable solutions across planning, governance, data, automation, reporting, and execution. The role also partners with other PMOs and enterprise functions to adopt, adapt, or build capabilities based on business needs.

This position will begin as a remote role and transition toward a hybrid operating model. Candidates located outside Rochester must be based in the U.S. Eastern Time Zone (see below locations) and be able to travel to Rochester frequently to maintain a strong working presence with Program Management, engineering, manufacturing, and leadership teams.

Key Responsibilities
Operating Model, Governance & Processes
• Define and improve end-to-end operating models across product, equipment, manufacturing, and factory programs.
• Establish scalable workflows, governance, decision forums, operating cadences, handoffs, and escalation paths.
• Clarify roles, ownership, decision rights, dependencies, and interfaces across teams.
• Standardize core Program Management practices across planning, milestones, schedules, risks, issues, changes, decisions, and reporting.
• Identify gaps, bottlenecks, duplication, and recurring execution issues and drive systemic improvement.
• Build dashboards and mechanisms to track strategic goals, initiatives, and execution health.
Systems, Tools & Data
• Define and evolve the systems and tool architecture supporting planning, execution, reporting, resource visibility, and collaboration.
• Translate business needs into system requirements and workflows.
• Establish clear sources of truth, data standards, and consistency across sites.
• Reduce fragmented tools, duplicate data entry, and manual reporting through integration and automation.
• Evaluate AI-enabled tools and workflow automation where they materially improve execution.
Team Leadership & Adoption
• Build and lead a Systems & Processes team spanning process design, systems, workflow automation, analytics, and PMO infrastructure.
• Define team structure, roles, competencies, and development plans.
• Drive adoption through implementation, training, coaching, and user engagement.
• Build a culture focused on simplicity, execution discipline, continuous improvement, and measurable impact.
Enterprise & PMO Integration
• Partner with other PMOs and enterprise process owners to leverage existing systems, tools, and standards.
• Apply an adopt / adapt / build approach rather than recreating capabilities locally.
• Maintain alignment with enterprise requirements while preserving speed and usability.
• Represent the organization in cross-PMO and systems/process forums.
• Improve resource forecasting, expenditure visibility, and decision support.
• 15+ years of experience in PMO leadership, Program Management, Business Operations, process engineering, systems implementation, or execution enablement.
• Experience in hardware, optics, semiconductor, electronics, manufacturing, or another complex technical environment.
• Experience with one or more of the following: NPI, equipment development, industrialization, factory launch, or high-volume manufacturing.
• Proven experience building or improving operating models, processes, workflows, governance, and execution mechanisms across functions.
• Experience implementing or improving systems and tools that support program or business execution.
• Strong systems thinking and ability to translate ambiguous problems into scalable solutions.
• Demonstrated ability to influence across functions and lead organizational change.
• Experience building and developing teams.
• Strong written, verbal, facilitation, and executive communication skills.

• Experience operating in both fast-growth environments and large enterprises.
• Experience with platforms such as Asana, JIRA, SharePoint, Databricks, Planisware, SAP, SalesForce or similar tools.
