Job Type Full-time Description

Job Role

We're looking for a hands-on QA Manager to lead our software quality function and drive the transformation from manual to automated testing across our healthcare technology platforms. This role requires deep domain expertise in healthcare payor and provider systems, combined with strong technical leadership in test automation and emerging AI-powered testing tools. You'll build and mentor a high-performing QA team while staying directly involved in automation architecture and execution.

Responsibilities:

Leadership & Strategy

  • Own the overall quality strategy for software development, ensuring products meet functional, regulatory, and performance requirements
  • Lead, mentor, and grow a QA team, fostering a culture of quality ownership and continuous improvement
  • Partner with Engineering, Product, and Compliance leaders to embed quality practices throughout the SDLC
  • Develop and execute a comprehensive functional, integration, and regression testing strategy across products and data
  • Define and track QA metrics and KPIs (test coverage, defect leakage, automation rate, release quality) and report to senior leadership
  • Drive release governance and readiness across the QA function, partnering with Product, Engineering, and Business teams to plan release schedules, manage risk, and ensure UAT cycles are executed with clear acceptance criteria and stakeholder sign-off.

Test Automation Transformation

  • Lead the transformation of QA teams from manual-heavy testing to scalable, automation-first practices
  • Design and implement test automation frameworks and strategy across web, API, and backend systems
  • Evaluate, pilot, and integrate AI-powered testing tools (e.g., AI-assisted test generation, self-healing scripts, intelligent defect triage, visual/regression AI testing) to increase efficiency and coverage
  • Remain hands-on: build and troubleshoot automated test scripts, review automation code, and set technical standards for the team
  • Establish CI/CD-integrated testing pipelines to enable continuous testing and faster release cycles

Healthcare Domain Expertise

  • Apply deep knowledge of healthcare payor operations (claims processing, eligibility, enrollment, benefits administration, EDI transactions such as 837/834/835/270/271) and provider systems (Clinical information received via fax, EHR/EMR integration, clinical workflows, revenue cycle
  • Ensure test strategies account for HIPAA, HITRUST, and other regulatory/compliance requirements
  • Validate interoperability standards (HL7, FHIR, X12 EDI) as part of test planning
  • Collaborate with business and clinical/compliance stakeholders to translate complex healthcare requirements into robust test scenarios

Process & Team Management

  • Manage test planning, execution, defect management, and release sign-off processes
  • Drive risk-based testing approaches to prioritize critical payor/provider workflows
  • Support performance, security, and regression testing strategy alongside functional QA
Requirements
  • 8+ years of experience in software QA, with 3+ years in a QA management or leadership role
  • Experience with healthcare payor and provider domain (claims, eligibility, EDI, EHR/EMR, or related domains) is a big plus
  • Demonstrated success in leading a transformation from manual to automated testing at an organizational or team level
  • Strong hands-on experience with test automation frameworks and tools (e.g., Selenium, Playwright, or similar)
  • Working knowledge of AI-driven testing tools and how to apply them to real-world QA challenges
  • Experience with CI/CD tools (Azure DevOps, Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, etc.)
  • Solid understanding of SDLC, Agile/Scrum methodologies, and QA best practices
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work across technical and business/clinical stakeholders

What Sets You Apart:

  • Experience managing global/distributed QA teams across multiple time zones
  • Continued hands-on coding/scripting ability in automation (not purely managerial)
  • Familiarity with performance testing tools (JMeter, LoadRunner) and security testing practices
  • Knowledge of cloud platforms (Azure (preferred), AWS, GCP) and cloud-based testing infrastructure
  • Certifications such as ISTQB, CSTE, or Certified Scrum Master (CSM)
  • Hands-on experience using AI-assisted development tools such as Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, or GPT-based tools for test generation, code review, or workflow automation

In addition to base pay, some of the benefits we offer our team are:

  • Paid Time Off
  • Paid Parental Leave
  • Medical, dental, vision benefits
